Fork Couple Gibson-Tuttle Wedding Solemized at Temple McBRIDE-MONTGOMERY The marriage of Miss Clarissa McBride of View, Idaho, and J. A, Montgomery of Soda Springs, Idaho, took place on March 5th, according to announcement re ceived by relatives and friends here. The ceremony was performed per-formed by Bishop Edwin Searle of the View ward of Burley stake The bride is the daughter of the late William and Emmaline McBride and lived here as a girl. The couple reside in Soda Springs. ARMSTRONG-GRANT Announcement was received here of the marriage of Miss Irene Armstrong and Dell L. Grant, both of Los Angeles. The marriage took place in LasVegas, Nev., on March 11th. They will make Los Angeles their home. The groom, a graduate of the high school here, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles G. Grant of Provo. He was with the original Carsen's raiders when they took Makin Island and saw considerable, consider-able, action in the South Pacific. He now is a member of the Los Angeles police force. Miss Dorothy Gibson, daughter I of Mr. and Mrs. O. H. Gibson, Tooele, and Edward (Ted) Tuttle, recited nuptials vows in the Salt Lake temple March 18, before Elder Mark E. Peterson. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward R. Tuttle, former resident of American Fork, now residing in Salt Lake City. Following the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Neil Murdock, sister and brother-in-law of the groom, entertained at a wedding break fast for the couple. That evening eve-ning parents of the bride were hosts at an elaborate reception in the Tooele First ward recrea tion hall. - - Sisters of the groom who as sisted at the reception were Mrs Nathan (Dorothy) Griffiths, Smithfield; Mrs.Sanford (Helen) Ritchie, Provo, and Mrs. Jack (Rosemary) Proctor, who had charge of the, gift room, and Mrs. Murdock (Jean) who cared for the guest book. Immediately following the re ception the couple left on a honeymoon to Las Vegas and Hoover Dam. On their return they will be at home at 553 East 4th South, Salt Lake City. The bride is a graduate of the LDS business college and at present the groom is attending the University of Utah where he is affiliated with Sigma Pi social fraternity. Dr. C. R. Anderson, also, was named to serve as vice-president of the organization. Mrs. Clyde Knold was elected secretary- treasurer and Walton E. Foulger was elected to the office of two-year two-year director. Mrs. J. L. Mower is the hold over director. The speaker stressed the importance of plant ing perennials and annuals to cover the bare places among shrubs. . He made the point that growing grow-ing flowers was in itself a worthy objective for, the gardener but said that the growers' enjoyment will be greater if the flowers are cut often to beautify the inside of the home, and shared with friends and shut-ins. At the conclusion of the meeting meet-ing those present enjoyed pie-a-la-mode, the treat of Mrs. Nils-son, Nils-son, the president. ,; Ernest Jacklin Claims Bride In Home Ceremony In a lovely ceremony at the home of John Jacklin, father of the groom, Ermale Gardner, daughter of Mrs. Sarah A. Gardner, Gard-ner, Manila, and Ernest J-Jacklin were married March 10, with Bishop Walter B. Devey officlat-ing. officlat-ing. The bride, who was attired in aqua lace over matching satin, was attended by her sister, Mrs. Fred Roundy, Manila. Mrs. Roun-dy Roun-dy wore white. Their corsages were pink and white carnations. Little Misses Ruth and Connie Polydoros, dressed in apricot net, were flower girls. Raymond Jacklin was best man for his brother. Following the ceremcny little Susan Day sang "I Love You Truly" and Mrs. George Jacklin played instrumental numbers. Ferns, carnations and pussy willows used in decorations were overshadowed by Calla lilies brought from California by a sister of the bridegroom. The serving table was centered with a three tiered wedding cake which was cut and served by the bride and groom.
