Principal Passes Funeral services for Joseph A. Shipley, 87, native of American Fork, will be held in the Anderson Ander-son and Sons mortuary Friday, April 30, at 2 p. m. with J. Stanley Stan-ley Peters, bishop of the Second ward officiating. Mr. Shipley died April 24 at his home in Los Angeles of causes incident to age. The son of Joseph and Eliza beth Anderton Shipley, he was born in American Fork Feb. 15, 1861. For many years he ran a shoe repair shop here before he moved to Salt Lake City where he continued in the same business. busi-ness. He moved to Los Angeles three years ago. He married Fanny Hill who survives but is unable to make the trip to Utah. Other survivors sur-vivors are three sons and two daughters, Clarence Shipley, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Warren Shipley, Ship-ley, Torrence, Calif.; Ray Shipley, Los Angeles; Mrs. Frank (Naomi) Brown and Mrs. J. S. (Erma) Boll, both of Los Angeles. Card of Thanks In the death of our beloved wife and mother it has been a comfort to have such loyal friends. We will remain ever grateful. DeLoss Penrod and Family Frank Leslie Hickman, 68, former principal of the American Fork high school , died in an Ogden hospital April 20, of a heart ailment. Funeral services were conducted in Salt Lake City Saturday and interment took place in the Wasatch Lawn Memorial park. , , A graduate of the Brigham Young university, Mr. Hickman came to American Fork as principal prin-cipal in 1912. He later taught in Hinckley and Bingham. Surviving Surviv-ing are his widow, Olive Nixon Hickman, five children, and 13 grandchildren. Fork Resident Dies At Midvale Home Funeral services for Melinda Parker Hansen, 59, will be held this afternoon in the South Jordan Jor-dan ward chapel after which interment will take place in the American Fork cemetery. Mrs. Hansen died Sunday at 6 p. m. of a heart attack at the home of a sister-in-law, Mrs. Arthur Peterson, Peter-son, Midvale. The daughter of Thomas Bat-tersby Bat-tersby and Elizabeth Proctor Parker, she was born in American Ameri-can Fork June 25, 1888. She at tended the American Fork schools and the Brigham Young university, and graduated from Henegar's Business college. She was married to James C. Hansen in the Salt Lake LDS temple, June 23, 1915.
