The secret nominators, selected select-ed from prominent men and women in American Fork, have nominated the woman for Lady of the Year of American Fork will be presented at a banquet at the Silver Star in Orem on the 31st of March. This award is presented on the basis of service serv-ice to the community. Many possibilities are apparent in the hopes of the international organization of Beta Sigma Phi. which sponsors the selection, although al-though its own members are riot eligible and the choice will be made by a committee of leading men and women of the com munity. In one city, a modest home-maker home-maker who has devoted a multitude multi-tude of hours to impepving the cultural aspects of her communi ty seems to be in the lead. In another city, a professional wom an with a flair for unselfish serv ice to the community probably will be chosen. Women everywhere, according to Beta Sigma Phi, are giving their efforts and talents to com munity development. It is for this reason the organization be lieves recognition is due the First Lady of the Year in every com munity. New High School Addition Nears Completion FOR SALE Collapsible baby buggy. When completed the changes ef fected in the building will give decided improvement but will not et relieve the overcrowded con ditions in the school. The boys' gymnasium Is being enlarged by an addition of about 1500 square feet. Of this space extended from the north end of the building, the regulation size floor will not be increased but the additional space will be utilized uti-lized for bleachers for the spectators. spec-tators. Folding bleachers will be stored under the balconies ex tending along the east and west sides of the gym and additional folding bleachers will be housed in the north end extension. An addition to the school build ing on the east side parallel with the gym will accommodate show er rooms and toilet facilities for the boys. In this area separate showers are being built for visiting visit-ing teams, such as M Men. In this way the visiting teams will have , no occasion to use the regular school showers. Storage space for supplies is also being provided. Above the showers on the sec ond floor will be the new music rooms. Here curved walls for sound reflection are being made. Under this set up the band, orchestra or-chestra and vocal practices will not interfere with classes in the other parts of the building. Three additional class rooms are to be built south of this new addition, but not under this present con tract. wew snower and toilet rooms are being built for the girls which will include a drying room for towels. This area is accessible from the girls gym by stairs from the east of the gym. With the removal of the former school lunch kitchen and use of the gym ror serving lunches at noon, this part of the building is consider ably improved.
