Mrs. Booth Sorenson entertained members of the Second ward Junior Genealogical class at a party Mon day evening In the ward chapel. Fif teen young people enjoyed games and a delicious luncheon. Mrs. D. II. Carson received a real surprise and a thrill last Wednesday Wednes-day evening, when she heard the voice of her son, Junior D. Carson, over the telephone. Junior called his mother from Chicago, Illinois, headquarters of the Northern States mission. He told her that he was feeling fine. A group of young folks motored to Mercur from Lehi Saturday, stopping stop-ping off in Fairfield on their return re-turn trip to visit friends. They were Anita and Alberta Van Wagoner, Leone Jones, Eugene Strasburg, Dale Russon and Ralph Wing. Mrs. Charles Carson paid a visit to her mother, Mrs. Fred Foutz, in Pleasant Grove Sunday evening. Mrs. L. Strong and baby of Al pine are visiting at the home of her mother, Mrs. Lehman McKlnney. Elvin Carson made a business trip to Provo and Rlverton on Monday. Mrs. Ephralm Walters and Mrs. Dallls Wall and family were guests of Mrs. Lehman McKlnney on Saturday. Sat-urday. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Miller attended at-tended the Paxman family reunion In American Fork, Saturday. Mrs. O. S. Peterson and Miss Maurine Peterson were guesta of Mrs. I. M. Davis and daughter, Betty, Bet-ty, in Provo, Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. James R. Atkinson of Salt Lake City, visited here Sunday Sun-day with Mrs. B. O. Webb. They Just arrived from San Francisco, where they attended the world's fair. Their two little daughters, Barbara and DeAnn, who have been visiting here with their grandmother, grand-mother, while their parents were away, returned home with them Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Wilcox arrived ar-rived In Lehi during the week from Colorado. Mr. Wilcox, who Is in charge of the Surplus Commodities program for the government, is here buying onions. He has established an office at the Capitol building in Salt Lake City and states that one hundred car loads of onions will be purchased from this territory. Of this number thirty-eight car loads will be shipped from Utah county and some of these from Lehi. Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Stlce arrived home Sunday, after enjoying a five weeks visit in the East. They visited vis-ited church historical places of interest in-terest in Nauvoo. Illinois; visited relatives In Keokuk, Bloomfield. Savannah, Sa-vannah, Memphis. Downing. Kirk- field and Clarlnda, Iowa; North Platte, Nebraska and Denver. Col orado. They crossed the Mississippi river on the ferry boat and enjoyed many interesting experiences. They spent a lot of the time gathering genealogy from relatives and report a lovely trip. The weather was ideal, they report, and the trip proved to be a very enjoyable one. Mrs. James H. Gray and daughters daugh-ters entertained at a bridal shower Friday evening at the home of Mrs. I Herman Swenson in compliment to Miss Eva Allen, who was wed to Howard Gray on Wednesday of this week in the Salt Lake temple. Fall flowers were used In decorating the entertaining rooms and during the evening the guests engaged in miscellaneous mis-cellaneous games, after which a luncheon was served at small tables to thirty-five relatives and close friends. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Davis were Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Dewey and family of Sandy, Mr and Mrs. LeRoy M. Davis Da-vis and daughter, Jeanne, of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Holdaway and family have moved into the Earl Chilton home in the Third ward. Mr. and Mrs. Chilton and family left last week for Shelley, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Myron Burgess were guests of honor at a party given by relatives in Alpine Friday evening. They were presented with lovely gifts. Mr. Nile Christensen, field representative repre-sentative for the Pacific Coast Red Cross, was visiting in Lehi Thursday Thurs-day with Red Cross representatives here. He is asking Lehi to secure a large roll call this year. A board meeting for all officers and roll call members is being held this morning (Thursday) at 10 a. m. in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Brown and son, Roger, Mrs. Arreva Armitstead and Mrs. Julia Brown arrived here Friday, after enjoying a trip East. They visited church historical points of Interest, attended the world's fair in New York City and other places of interest. Roger Brown met them in New York City, returning home from Germany, where he has fulfilled ful-filled an L. D. S. mission. Mr. and Mrs. Brown and son will visit here with relatives until after general conference before returning to their home in Seattle. Washington. Mrs. George N. Larsen and two little daughters left Friday for C1I-cago, C1I-cago, Illinois, where she will join her husband and make her home. Mr. Larsen is employed there. The small son of DeMar Gale of Mercur was given medical treatment treat-ment at the local hospital Sunday and Monday. Fred Keetch was removed to his home last Wednesday from the local hospital, where he recently underwent under-went an operation for appendicitis. Mrs. Ellis Powell and baby were removed home from the hospital last Thursday. Alice Beck was removed from the hospital to the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Alice Austin, Thursday. Mrs. Dean Van Wagoner and baby were removed home from the hospital Sunday. Mrs. John E. Jolly was In the hos pital last week for medical care. She was removed home Saturday.
