"The Cat's Paw" comes to the screen of the Cozy Theatre, on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, December De-cember 2, 3 and 4. Not in his many years of comedy making, except for a series of lour stories purchased from Tom Dorgan (Tad), famous cartoonist, nearly eighteen years ago, has Lloyd ever; made a picture from a published! story. There were several reasons why he never operated from stories! other than those created by himseli and staff. He felt that in producing produc-ing from stage plays or popular published pub-lished stories, he would be robbed of the surprise element which he used to feel so Important to his peculiar style of comedy. Lloyd's ideas in this regard have taken a turn to the left, occasioned by his desire to do something entirely entire-ly different from anything he has before attempted in his long screen career. He figured to make a radical rad-ical change in style, and in "The Cat's Paw" he has done Just that. He depends more on story, situation, characterization, and dialogue, rather rath-er than on the fast-running gag sequences se-quences so familiar to Lloyd pictures. The change, however, has not resulted result-ed In a diminishing of the laughter qualities of his picture, but the results re-sults are obtained In a more legitimate legiti-mate way. Helping the great comedian in his laugh-provoking efforts In a sterling cast of supporting players headed by Una Merkel, with the list also including in-cluding George Barbier, Nat Pendleton, Pendle-ton, Grace Bardley, Alan Dinehart, Grant Mitchell, Fred Warren, Warren War-ren Hymer, J. Farrell MacDonald, James Donlan, Edwin Maxwell, Frank Sheridan, Fuzzy Knight and Vince Barnett. Sam Taylor directed "The Cat's Paw," with the dance numbers handled by Larry Ceballos. The music was written by Harry Akst and Roy Turk. IN THE DISTRICT COURT OF UTAH COUNTY, UTAH. THE FEDERAL LAND BANK OF BERKELEY, a corporation, Plaintiff, vs. GEORGE G. WEBB and ELIZA.
