The mother was formerly Miss Mable Wicbb of this city. Mrs. B. G. Webb is the proud grandmother. Sunday evening Mr. Gus Pendleton, Pendle-ton, a nephew of Mrs. A. B. Harris, in company with Bishop Abbett, Mrs. Annie J. Cox and Mr. and Mrs. Emmett, all of BunkervlUe, Nevada, visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Harris. It was over thirty years since Mrs. Cox and Mrs. Har ris had seen each other. It was a short but very pleasant visit. Mr. and Mrs, E. B. Garrett and family sp?nt Sunday in Nephl with Mr. Garrett's step-father, Jacob Bowers, who was very , seriously ill. Mr. Bowers passed away Sunday af tarnoon. He was eighty years of age and was a hand cart pioneer and a Black Hawk War veteran. He had always made his home In Nephl Ne-phl Funeral services were held Wedn?fday at 2 o'clock in Nephl. Missionaries Arrive Home Mr. and Mrs. Harry Glen Stewart and daughter, Phyllis, who have been laboring for the past three years in the Hawaiian Islands as L. D. S. missionaries arrived in Lehi Monday evening. Grant Chrlstofferson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Chrlstofferson, ar rived home Tuesday from New Zea land, where he has been laboring as a missionary during the past three years and will have many wonder ful experiences to relate to the peo ple of this community. Lehi people Join in welcoming the missionaries home again. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart and daugh ter left for their mission in June 1931 from the Wilshire ward. Hollywood Holly-wood Stake, Los Angeles. For two years they labored in Hilo, Hawaii, where Glen saved as District President. Pres-ident. They spent six months the Hawaiian temple at Laie. They did temple work and also acted as guides around the temple grounds. The remainder of their time was spent in Hawaii. , They received their release April 7, and returned' to Los Angeles to report to their ward, before com ing bac't home to LehL Mr. and Mrs. Stewart report many Wonderful experiences and state that the Hawaiian mission Is the grandest mission in the church. They state that missionary work Is progressing very much in the Islands. Is-lands. There are over 13,000 members mem-bers of the church there and baptisms bap-tisms have averaged one a day for the past three years. The Hawaiian people are being taught to be leaders as well as followers fol-lowers and are taking care of many church duties. Councils and district dist-rict boards have been organized there and the work Is going forward In a wonderful manner. ' Elder Grant Chrlstofferson labored la-bored In the Walkato District, in the Bay of Islands District, in the Whangarel and the Walrapa Dist ricts. Ha left Lehi in January 1931, and arrived in New Zealand, February Feb-ruary 4. He was gone three years and about two months. He states that he enjoyed his mission Immensely and like all other missionaries states that It Is the best mission in th world. He stated stat-ed that the Mowrl people were a fine people and the mission is go ing forward In a splendid manner There are ov?r 8,000 members of the church there now. Elder Chrlstofferson reported on th? conference held there in March. and stated that it was the second largest conference held in the church, outside of the Salt Lake conferences. con-ferences. He reports that near 3,000 people attended. During the conference thers were contests in singing, speaking and dancing. He reports that there were five choirs competing, eight quartets, eight or nlns girls choruses, nine M. Men choruses, nine M. Mens quartets, eight ladies choruses, fifteen couples competing in dancing contests and a number competing in orations and short stories. The Judges stated that the speeches were some of the finest he had ever heard and stated that the Mowrl singing was among the best in th? world In harmony. Elder Christofferson received his rel?as on April 22 and came home In company with Elder O. J. Fox, son of Mayben Fox of Ogden, form erly of this city, and grandson of the lat? Robert Fox. Elder Fox's Coach Made By Lehi Boy On Display A miniature "Coach" made by Floyd White is on display at the local high school this week. It Is a real masterpiece, being very skillfully skill-fully and artistically made. Every one who has seen the little coach Is thrilled with the exquisite da signlngs. Mr. White, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. White, made the Coach to enter into a contest of the Fisher body Craftsman Guild, who are offering liberal prizes to the winners.' They offer four prizes, each a $5,000 scholarship in any university in the United States or Canada and forty other prizes ranging down to scholarships to universities. The Fisher body Crafteman Guild conduct these contests through schools and other organizations, Every year Tor the past few years they have offered prizes for the best Coaches.' made. All plans are furnished to the boys by them and the boys entering pay for all materials ma-terials used. a"- ; Floyd has "-sworked over a thou sand hours on his eoach. He has yet a few finishing touches to put on it and wHI be given until July 1 to complete1 it and forward It to the headquarters, where it will" be Judged with others entered through out the United states. Floyd Is working through the shop depart ment of the local high school. Last year four boys were chosen to compete iri the contest from the shop department of the high school. Two other boys, Mathew Carson and Max Sharp, are working on clever little stage coaches and will have them completed by July 1, ready to enter in the contest. Two Lehi Boys Receive Calls to FulfiU Mission During the week two Lehi boys, both members of the Second ward, received calls to fulfill L. D. S. missions. Cecil Webb, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. N. Webb, received a call last week to the Northern States mission, mis-sion, with headquarters at Chicago, Illinois. He will leave for the missionary mis-sionary school in Salt Lake City on Juna 4, and will leave Salt Lake for Chicago on June 14. Cecil graduated from the Lehi high school in May 1931 and has taken an active part In social ana church activities. While in high school he took a prominent part to school activities and has been active In social and church affairs. His past experiences with his fine personality per-sonality will Jnnd much toward his success as a missionary. Merlin Fagan, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Frank Fagan, received a call to the L. D. S. Texas mission Monday. He will also leave for the missionary school on June 4, and for the mission field on June 14. IMerlin, too. Is a fine young man and graduated from the Lehi high school in May 1932. He has a genial gen-ial personality and has taken a leading part in school and church affairs. We are sure hs will also be a very successful missionary. Both boys haw the best wishes of Lehi stake people for happiness and success in their missionary labors. .
