The evening was enjoyably spent in numerous games and chatting, followed by delicious refreshments. There were thirty in attendance. They presented the young couple with a beautiful set of silverware. Mrs. J- C- Russell entertained members of her 4-H Club Wednesday Wednes-day evening at her home. The girls came dressed representing different characters and spent a most delightful evening in games, stunts, ' music and fun of every nature, followed by the serving of delicious refreshments. The girls in attendance were Barbara Knight, Marie Lott, Lucile Fagan, Marie Degelbeck, Madge Worlton, Virginia Vir-ginia Meiling, Karma Evans, Arline Allred and Marjorie Russell. Mr. and Mrs- Bernard G- Webb have received word that their son, Robert,,; who has been laboring as an L. D, S. mlslonary in Germany, has received his release and is expected ex-pected to arrive home about the first of February. At the present time Robert is Branch president and will be unable to leave for about two weeks. . He has made a very successful missionary and his many friends will be more than delighted to have him home again. One of the gay social events of the week was the dinner party, given Saturday evening last by Mrs. Melba Clark In honor of her father-in-law, Mr. Thomas Clark, who was celebrating his birthday anniversary. A dainty color scheme of red and white was used in the center piece, favors and place cards, red and white carnations making a beautiful centerpiece. After the dinner the evening was pleasantly spent in progressive card games. The Fortwall camp of the Daughters Daugh-ters of the Pioneers met at the home of Mrs. George Smith last Thursday afternoon. The history of Jacob Cox, a pioneer, was given by Mrs. Martha Ann Cox, Mrs. H. J. Stewart gave the story of Escal-ante's Escal-ante's Voyage Into Utah Valley, a reading was given by Miss Aria Cox and a vocal solo by Mrs. Ernest B. Garrett. Tri-Stake Convention Held For Correlation Corre-lation Committees A trl-stake convention was held Monday evening for all ward and stake correlation committee of the Lehi, Alpine and Tlmpanogos Stakes. The meeting was held In the Lehi Second Ward, commencing commenc-ing at 7 p. m. The meeting from 7 until 8 p. m. was for all ward workers and the stake workers met at 8 p. m. until 9 p. m. John D. Last year from the Fifth to the Ninth grades Inclusive underwent an examination. These rerords will be kept in the departmtint of the health office of the school board and will be cheeked regularly by those in charge of the health work in the district, so that the health In our schools can be maintained and kept on a high level. After these examinations have been taken, slips will be sent home to the parents with a report of the child's physical condition and then parents are urged to see that these defects are taken care of at once. Bad teeth, tonsils, underweight conditions, etc., are some of the most prevalent defects found among the children and should be Immedi ately taken care of, as they hinder the development of the child both physically and mentally a great deal. In a few months the records of the child's health will again be checked to see how any of the de fects have been overcome- In this way the health of the school children child-ren in the district will be maintain ed, and all Ill-health conditions will be taken care of. The two local doctors, Dr. O. Q Chrlstensen and Dr. Elmo Eddlng- ton and co-operating with the school board in conducting the examl nations and are doing excellent work- They deserve special men tion. In a recent issue of our paper there appeared and article about LaDrue Dorton getting shot through the leg with a twenty-two pistol. It said that John Carr was with him and had the gun, which he let the Dorton boy take and the gun acoldently discharged going through his leg- Mr- Carr was not with the Dorton boy and did not have the gun. Instead It was another friend of La Drue's. We wish to correct this statement. Misses Alwene Rothe and Lilliun Russon entertained members of their Sunday School class, the Pri mary department, at a merry sleigh riding party Monday after noon after school. After a few hours of the sport they met at Miss Rothe's home and enjoyed a delici ous luncheon. Once again, the Fifth Ward outfoxed the Third Warders and again spiked Beck, ace guard and scoring spring of the Third Ward. The Fifth last week laid away the First, and the fast improving Second Ward team now only blocks their path. The First. Third and Fifth ended the first half in a triple tie. Mr. Blackhurst and Mr. Rud of the State Poultry Association Associ-ation and Mr. Grass, President of the Midvale local, were In attendance attend-ance and gave talks. Mr. Black-hurst Black-hurst talked on poultry and Mr. Rud gave a report on the feed. Mr. Grass gave a talk on the care and management of ths commercial flock. A new board of directors were elected as follows: Randall Schow, John Goodwin, Joseph Anderson, Delbert Norman, Rulon Fox, Carl Gunther and Ernest Peterson. Randall Ran-dall Schow was elected president; Rulon Fox, vice-president and Delbert Del-bert Norman, secretary-treasurer- John Goodwin Is the retiring president and J. E. Johnson the only retiring board member, suc-ceded suc-ceded by Mr. Schow. The members voted at the meeting meet-ing to have the secretary write into the main office to have the veter-narlan veter-narlan service discontinued hefe.
