SECOND WARD The Second Ward have planned a unique entertainment io d& Known as an annual Christmas ajid Ward Reunion for Tuesday evening, Dec. 22. It will be an occasion of genuine enjoyment for everyone- All children of the ward will be entertained Tuesday afternoon from 4 to 6 o'clock by the Primary officers. They win enjoy games and refreshments. Jolly old Santa Claua will be there and distribute candy and nuts to every child- The evening entertainment is under un-der the direction of the M. I. A, and the Sunday School- At 7:30 p m. "Joy to the World," a pageant play In five scenes depicting the story of the birth of the Christ child, will be presented. Knight-Special Knight-Special music and singing during the pageant After the pageant there will be games, dancing and refreshments. Also a Christmas tree and Santa Claus will be there to distribute free candy and peanuts to every one- " A Reception Committee, com posed of the ward bishopric will be at the door to greet and welcome all members- A transportation committee headed by Dr. J. G- Jones and Afton Giles has been organized for the purpose of bringing bring-ing all the old people to the reunion, who otherwise would-be unable to come; they will be well taken care of and given a wonderful enter tainment, after which they will be taken to their homes- During the coming week the officers of these organizations will make a house to house canvass of all the ward, so that every home will be visited and . the members especially invited to be present at this reunion. Everything is free and a large attendance is desired. The pageant alone is wonderful and well worth an admission price. Be sure and see It. All ward members and former ward . members are urged to be present on this occasion. A good time is in store for all- There will be no charge- With the Christmas tree.. Santa Claus, Christmas carols, this oc casion will be filled with the Christ mas spirit from beginning to end-THIRD end-THIRD WARD Under the direction of the Third Ward Sunday School a Christmas program will be presented Sunday evening during the regular sacrament sacra-ment meeting in the ward, commencing com-mencing at 7:30. They have ar ranged for Santa Claus to be there, a beautiful Christmas tree will help to carry out the Christ mas spirit and after the preliminary exercises the following program will be carried out: Song Congregation. All ward members are cordially invited. : ' FOURTH WARD The Fourth Ward are carrying thedr Christmas program Sunday morning during the Sunday School, Answers Last Call George Lorenzo Comer, 76 years of age, one of Lehi's most highly respected citizens, passed, away at the family home In the Fourth Ward Saturday at mid-night fol lowing a short illness. . Mr- Comer has been ailing for the past four years, but was only seriously ill for two days before his death. Mr. Comer was born May 80, 1855, in South Wales- He came to this country in the year 1866, mov ing shortly afterwards to Lehl, where he has made his home ever since, assisting at various times in the upbuilding and in' the advance ment of the community. He married Mary Jones on March 31. 1882, and to' this union eight children were born, five of them having preceded him to the Great tseyona- iie is survived by one son and two daughters, Robert Comer, Mrs. David Roberts and Mrs. Eugene Briggs, all of Lehl, Fifteen grandchildren, one great grandchild,' two sisters, Mrs- Wm Dorton of Lehl, Mrs. Alice English of Salt Lake City and two brothers, Heber Comer of Lehl and John Comer of Windsor, Colorado, also survive Mr- Comer followed the occu pation of farming the greater part of, his life and made a success of his endeavor. His splendid char acter and pleasant disposition won for him many friends, who will mourn his loss-Funeral loss-Funeral services will be held this afternoon, (Thursday) at 1:80 p. m. In the Fourth Ward chapel with Bishop Joseph E. Smith in charge-Interment charge-Interment will be in the City cemetery. with the Sunday School officers in charge. Santa Claus will be in at- j tendance and distribute gift bags to every child In attendance. The program to be given will include in-clude a talk, "The Life of the Savior by William Kirkham; a talk on "The Life of Joseph Smith" by Orlan Schow and each department from the Kindergarden up to the Gospel Doctrine will take, part wjth Christmas " songs' recitations, talks and musical numbers. FIFTH WARD Sunday morning during Sunday School a very splendid Christmas program will prevail in the Fifth Ward, planned under the direction of the Sunday School officers- The outlined program follows: Vocal solo Max Smith- Vocal trio Lucile Anderson, Gayle and Flossie Webb- Recitation Theda Snyder. Musical number Stanley Clark and company. Christmas reading Elizabeth Romney. Mixed quartet Under the direc tion of Abraham Anderson. After the program the Kinder- garden and Primary classes will be taken down stairs and will be given a Christmas gift bag of candy and nuts. Besides the main Christmas pro gram some of the wards are featuring fea-turing Christmas programs In their Sunday Schools end evening meetings. Up to the present time 2,500 pounds of flour, 8,000 pounds of potatoes, 600 pounds of onions, 600 pounds of carrots, 200 pounds of beans and some cabbage and some turnips, besides liberal contributions In cash have been turned in to the storehouse.
