F. held their second annual outing at Geneva resort re-sort Sunday. This district tabes In all points between Lehl and Delta. The morning waa spent in bathing and getting acquainted and the main features of the afternoon were games and sports of every variety. A tug-of-war between the Odd Fellows and the Salt Jjake Telegram staff resulted In a victory in favor of the Odd FellowB. The Odd Fellows were also victorious in ' a baseball game against the Salt Lake telegram. After luncheon the Union Pacific "band of Provo gave a one and one-half hours band concert, followed by a three hundred dollar fireworks dis play, sponsored by the Salt Lake Telegram. William Tyte of Eureka took honors hon-ors for being the oldest Odd Fellow present, having been a member for 41 years. Mrs. William Tyte of Eureka Eu-reka and Mrs. William Price of Salt Lake City was honored for being the oldest Rebeccas present, each having been members for thirty-eight years J. L. Barnhart of this city took honors hon-ors for having the ; largest family present at the outing. Everyone reports a good time. ' ; ' o - Eeturaed Missionary - Honored At Homecoming A welcome home porty honoring Elder Bert Beck, who just recently returned from the Northern States was held In the Third ward chapel Tuesday evening,' under the direction of the Elders quorum. Hungarion Slave DanceLaurel Hutchings, accompanied on the piano by Miss Beth Anderson. A song review, "Those Songs My Mother Used to Sing" by a group of Junior girls and Vanguards. Following the program dancing was enjoyed the music being furnish ed by the Third ward orchestra, and delicious refreshments were served. There was a very large attendance. ' Rodeo To Be Staged Here On July 2h A big wild west rodeo will be held at the City Park, July 24th, under the direction of George Downs and Shlrl F.ox. There will be plenty of tucking horses and wild steers there and some real cowboy riders to furnleh an afternoon after-noon of excitement and lots of thrills for everyone. . It will commence at 2 p. m. and If you enjoy seeing a good rodeo, b9 there. o Hospital Notes A winsome jbaby daughter arrived Saturday to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph MIelson of Blanding, at the local hospital. The mother, who was .formerly Miss Marion Gardner of this city, and the new babe are doing nicely. Fred Gunther of Salt Lake City, who is leaving in the near future for a three months trip In Germany spent the week-end visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gunther. Miss Jean Coleman of Midway was visiting with Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Webb Monday evening. She will leave the latter part of the week for the North west, where she will spend the re mainder of the summer. Eldon Carson of Cedar Valley Is In the local hospital receiving treatment for a fractured hip. Mrs. Bert Hutchings underwent a successful appendicitis operation at the hospital last Wednesday. Grant Gardner of Jackson, Michigan, was operated on for appendicitis Thursday at the hospital. ; Helene Worlton of Salt Lake City, underwent an appendicitis operation Saturday at the local hospital. LOCAL ITEMS Mrs. Richard Hutchings was visit ing relatives la American Fork on Monday. - Mrs. Rose Hayes of Pleasant Grove, spent Wednesday night visiting with Mrs. Margaret Bushman. American Legion Auxiliary Select Delegates To ? Attend Convention Friday evening members of the Am erican Legion . Auxiliary met together to select their delegates to attend the Annual American Legion convention to be held at Provo on Aug. 7, 8 and 9. The list of delegates chosen fol lows: Matilda Booth, Fern Larsen Erma Robinson, LaVerda Peterson; Alternates, Cina Jones, Josephine Cooper, Donnette Holmstead and Wanda Curtis. ' Misa Genevieve Thornton of Salt Lake City, spent the week-end visit ing with Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Garrett. Iris Wray of Pocatello, Idaho, re turned to her home Saturday, after visiting here for the past month with her eister, Mrs. Vern Webb. Mrs. Robert Phillips returned home Sunday, after spending the past week visiting in Hooper with her mother, Mrs. Childs. Mrs. White was a former saleslady in that department and her many friends welcome her back. Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Wells, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Stoker and Mr. arid Mrs. J. H. Glover formed a party and motored to Saratoga resort Wednesday evening to celebrate the birthday anniversary of Mrs. Stoker. After a fine swim they enjoyed a sumptuous 'chicken supper. Mrs. Ellen Rif inberick of Coronoda, California, and Miss Helen McLeod, formerly of Prince . Rubert, British Columbia and now of Coronoda, Call fornia, visited this week with Mrs. T, F. Kirkham. They returned home Wednesday morning and Miss Phyllis Kirkham accompanied them to Cali fornia. She will spend two weeks there visiting with her aunt and other relatives.' ' . . A. officers gave a delightful party at Saratoga resort Monday evening in honor of the resigning . officers, Nyron Fowler, president of Young Men; Benjamin Russon and waiford Russon, coun selors; and Miss Cleo Larson coun selor,- in the Young Ladies. The stake M. I. A. officers were honored guests also. Games and bathing com prised the evening's entertainment, followed by a tasty luncheon.
