Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Jackson of Pocatello, Idaho, and Mr. Koer of Salt Lake Olty, motored here Sunday lor a short visit with Mr. and Mrs Samuel K. Russell entertained enter-tained at dinner Sunday at their home. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Denzll Kirkham of Ephraim, Miss Mona Hindley of American Fork, Mrs. Sarah Kirkhanu Raymond Kirkham and the Russell family. The table was centered with a vase of rose buds. Mr. and Mrs. John Devey are celebrating cele-brating their sixtieth wedding anniversary anni-versary next Wednesday evening, June 20th. The affair will be held in the Memorial building. Two hundred relatives and friends have been invited to help celebrate the event. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Ford have as their guests at their home, Mrs. Nola Klburv and two sons, Merdith and Eldrldge, of St. Louis, Mrs. Klburv was formerly Nola Ford, daughter of Mr. Ford. The visitors will return to their home in St. Louis the latter part of the week after having spent the past three weeks here and in Salt Lake. Mrs. Edna Boley of American Fork, Mrs. Vern Webb and Mrs. George H. Smith entertained at a miscellaneous shower Thursday atfernoon at the Smith home, complimentary com-plimentary to Miss Nora Smith, a bride of the near future. .A variety of summer flowesr were arranged throughout the rooms. Games were enjoyed during the afternoon and a musical prograon. was given, including includ-ing several selections on the cello by Miss Lota Paxman of Provo. A dainty lunch was served to thirty-two thirty-two guests. Miss Smith was presented present-ed with many beautiful gifts. Mrs. J. B. Watson, Miss Arvllla Watson, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. M. S, Lott and daughter, daugh-ter, Barbara, Mrs. Andy Trane, Mrs. A. Kirkham and daughter, Phyllis, Mrs. Eldon Barnes, Mrs. Booth Sorenson, Miss Lela Wing and Mrs. Robert Evans were among those from here who attended the final M. I. A. dancing contest held at Saltalr last Friday evening In which Miss Fay Taylor and Morris Trane were among the contestants. Although the local couple were not awareded first place they made a very creditable showing and were highly complimented on their dancing. Gardner attended the closing graduation exercises at the University of Utah last Tuesday. Her daughter, Fern, was one of the graduates from the institution. Miss Gardner received a number of honor among which was a scholar ship In the National Phi Kappa Phi sorority. The retiring officers of the Third ward Sunday School were the honor ed guests at an interesting party given Wednesday evening in the ward meeting house. During the evening games and refreshments were enjoyed by a large crowd. The affair was given under the direction of the new Sunday School officers, Arnold Bream, Dale Hadfleld and Leland Wardle. The honored officers were Thomas Sunderland, Walter Hutchings and John Price.
