The Fifth Ward Relief Society ladies entertained at a Christmas grocery shower Tuesday afternoon in the Memorial building. After the reenter lesson was given a special musical program was enjoyed. The rooms were decorated in Christmas greens and holly. The guests were seated at small tables, and the place cards and favors were in holiday design. The remainder of the evening was spent in playing "Bunco." The following were present: Misses Leona and June Fjeld, Mrs. Dorothy Southwick, Delvora, June and Martha Gurney, Norma Whitman, Lexie Bateman, Lois Gardner, Reva Fox, Norine Fox and Fern Gardner. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Davis returned return-ed Saturday to Baten, Idaho, after enjoying en-joying a few days visit here with Mr. Davis' mother, Mrs. Asa Clark and family. Mr. Allen Bateman returned home Saturday from Bellingham, Washing ton, where he has been employed for the Utah-Idaho Sugar Company for the past six weeks. Miss Mildred Whipple, Miss Cleo Holmstead, Ralph Goodwin, Bob Gilchrist, Gil-christ, Merrill and Pete Lott, students of the U. of U., are here spending the holidays with their parents. The Mothers Club will hold their next meeting Friday, January 6th, at' the home of iMrs. Richard Norman, instead in-stead of Friday, December 23rd, as was announced In last week's issue of this paper. Miss Delvora Gurney entertained at a miscellaneous shower Friday evening even-ing complimentary to her sister Belva, a bride of this week. Games were played followed by the serving, of a tasty lunch to thirty-five guests. Twenty-five friends entertained at a party Tuesday evening in honor of Elder Odell Peck. The party was given at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elisha Peck. Social chat and games were enjoyed after which a tasty lunch was served. The Fifth Ward Primary officers and teachers entertained the children at a little social Monday afternoon. A DroKram was given, and the main fea ture was the appearance of Santa Claus who presented each child with I a bag of candy and nuts. Misses Thelma and Arleen Goodwin entertained at an attractively appoint- ed dinner party n-iaay eveumg v the home of their parents. A beauti- fully decorated minature Christmas tree was used as a centerpiece for the table and small holly boxes and Santa Clauses formed clever favors and place cards.
