"Seven Chances" To Be ! Presented By High School Seven chances to one the play "Seven Chances" written by Roi Cooper Megrue will be the best play that has as yet been presented for the approval of Lehi people. The play takes place in a modern club house where Jimmie Shannon is left twelve million dollars by a deceased uncle, but the trouble la Jimmy must be married by the time he is thirty years old. As there is only one day before his thirtieth birthday birth-day this means quick work for the "born batchelor" Jimmie. W7hat ii the result Does he fail? Does he get married? What becomes of the millions? All these questions will be answered Wednesday, December 14, at 4 o'clock and Thursday, December 15 at 8 o'clock at the Royal Theatre. New Bakery and Cafe Building Started On Main Street Yesterday work on a new bakery and cafe building on Main street just east of the National theatre was commenced. According to the contracts con-tracts this structure is to be com. pleted by January 15th. Julius Jensen, owner and proprie tor of the Jocal bakery and cafe, informs in-forms us that the new building will be 24 y 65 feet, and will be of brick structure with cement foundation. H. C. Featherstone has the contract for the cement work, brick paying and plastering, R. .J. Whipple has the lumber and carpenter work. Pouring of the cement foundation was started yesterday. WEBB Jeweler and Optometrist few BtewjsmjH Dr. Erickson Gives Lecture At Parent-Teachers Parent-Teachers Meeting The JParent-Teachers Association held a meeting last week in the High School Auditorium. Dr. Erickson Erick-son of the University of Utah gave the first lecture, of a series of twelve, his subject was on the "Standard of living in the home in relation to moral value." Mrs. Rula Dorton and Mrs. Lulu Anderson sang a vocal duet. Dr. Erickson's second lecture, given last night (Wednesday) in the Auditorium, Audi-torium, was on "recreation in the home in relation to moral value." Dr. Erickson's lectures were very instructive in-structive and greatly appreciated by the large attendance present both evenings. Up to the. present time the association has over a hundred members enrolled for these lectures. 0 Mr. Joseph Scorey Passes Away Mr. Joseph Scorey, 59, a former Lehi resident, passed away Tuesday night in a Provo hospital following an illness of two months. Mr. Scorey was born in England and came here when a' young man to make his home. He with his wife and two daughters lived in this city until a few years ago when they moved to Salt Lake City. Mrs. Samuel Briggs of Lehi is a sister to Mr. Scorey. The same program was given in Lincoln, November 30th, at Pleasant Grove, December 2nd, and will be given in American Fork on December Decem-ber 10th. The Male Glee Club, Ladies Glee Club and the combined choruses of 340 students participated. Ninety-two of the students are-from the local high school. Each high school gave one group number and one instrumental number num-ber in addition to the ensemble work. Following is the complete program which waa given with Mr. Abraham Anderson in charge: 1. Lions Regular Meeting The local Lions Club held their regular meeting and luncheon in the high school last Thursday evening. The speaker of the evening was Mr. A. J. Evans. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Gunther rendered two inst selections. A report of the recent clean-up of the City cemetery was given by Lion J. O. Meiling. Lion T F. Kirkham of the Publicity Com-niittee, Com-niittee, reported on the Welcome Signs, and presented for approval the sample of the sign which the committee had compiled from two of the sample signs sent in by the school children. He reported that about one hundred students had sent in signs hoping to win the $5.00 cash prize offered by the committee for the sign chosen. The two signs selected which were arranged to make the sign chosen by the committee were made by Miss Audrey Davis and 'Miss Rowena Christensen. Lion W. L. Worlton, Chairman of the Civic Committee reported that the community skating rink was being made and is nearly completed. A re port was made by Lion E. H. Mc-Affee Mc-Affee on the ladies night which was held November 17, stating that the event was successful. A report for the Major Activity Committee was given by Chairman Bernard Brad- shaw. Lion J. W. Goodman reported report-ed that the American Fork Club had invited the local club to attend their first public dance, which was held Saturday evening. The prize given by Lion Afton Giles was won by Lion E. N. Webb. Engagement Announced Mr. and Mrs. John Goates announce the engagement of their daughter, Edith, to Mr. Kenneth D. Singleton of American Fork, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dell Singleton. The marriage to take place Docemer 27th in the Salt Lake Temple. Former Resident Of This City Dies In Salt Lake Hospital , Mr. Charles Brems, 48, died in a Salt Lake hospital Mondav niht from a basal skull fracture, suffered ' bunday night when his automobile was struck by a street car in Murray. Mrs. lirems' version of the acci- ueiu lOUOWs: "We were driving north on State street when an automobile occupied by two girls came around from the right and cut in so close that my husband was forced to turn his car into the street car tracks. We did not see the street car, which was approaching from the north." Mrs. Brems and son were also severely Injured in the accident. Mr. Brems was born in Lehi, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Franz Brems. While a young boy, following the death of his parents, he went to live with "Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Briggs where ho made his home until his marriage to Miss Amy Williams, of American Fork. They moved to Salt Lake to make their home some fifteen years ago. He is survived by hia wife and three children, Mrs. Larue Reed of Salt Lake; Mildred, 19, and Bobble, 5. Three brothers, John of this city; Lawrence of Sandy and William of Nevada; and also one sister in California, The Brems family were returning to their home in Salt Lake, after spending the day here with Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Briggs. 0 Missionary Honored . A farewell party in honor of Elder John Smith, who eft Wednesday to fullflll a mission in the Northwestern States, was given Monday eveulng in the Fourth ward meeting house by the missionary committee.. Points figured on high 13 credits.' 0 Autos Crash On State Highway Two cars were demolished Sunday evening about 8:30 o'clock when they crashed on the State road near the Thomas Russon home. Flint Mc-Clellan Mc-Clellan and L. H. Williams occupied the one car and were on their way home to Payson. Jhe other car smashed belonged to Sydney H. Williams, who was returning to his home in Salt Lake after visiting in Provo. No one was injured in the accident, a .
