Mr. and Mrs. Edward Larsen attended at-tended a banquet at the Newhouse Hotel in Salt Lake Sunday, given by, the Utah Press association. Mrs. Samuel Jackson was a Salt Lake visitor last Thursday. On Fri day Mr- Jackson was visiting in Salt Lake. G. S. Peterson, Mr. and Mrs. John Whimpey and Mrs. H. A. Fitzger ald were Salt Lake visitors on Mon day. Mrs. I. L. Lott was hostess to members of the Athenian club at her home Wednesday afternoon. The lesson was given by Mrs. D. R. Mitchell, after which the hostess served a prettily-appointed luncheon- Mr. and Mrs. James Taylor, Miles Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Taylor and family motored to Salt Lake Sunday and spent the day visiting with Mr- and Mrs, I S. Wood. Mrs. Wood is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Taylor. Heber J. Webb and son, Wayne, Mrs. Heber C. Webb and Mrs. Booth Sorenson motored to Salt Lake Tuesday Tues-day to meet Mr- and Mrs. Vern Webb and two children, who ar rived in Salt Lake from Blackfoot, Idaho, where they have been spend ing the past seven months- The Social club members of Lehi were entertained at the home of Mrs. Howard Strang at her home in Orem last Thursday afternoon, Bridge was played at small tables tuirine the afternoon. Mrs. Mable "Worlton winning first prize and Mrs. Laura Smith, second prize. A dain ty luncheon was served later. Club members from Lehi attending were Mesdames LaVerde Klrkham, Tena "Zimmerman, Laura Smith, Agnes Lott, Francis Comer, Mable Worl-ton, Worl-ton, Edith Evans, Clara Larsen. Anna An-na Melllng and Sadie Southwlck. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Brown of Ste attle, Washington, arrived In Lehi last Wednesday for a two week's visit here with relatives and friends. On Tuesday evening members of the Davis family entertained in honor of the visitors at the E. H- Davis home. The Daughters of the Pioneers of the Snow Springs camp met at the home of Mrs- Emma Jane Roberts on Thursday afternoon of last week for their meeting. Following the opening exercises a program was given, consisting of a song by Shir ley Van Wagoner, history of James T. Worlton, given by his grand daughter, Mrs. Flora Zimmerman; guitar duet by Beth Knudsen and Tom Gaines, and the lesson by May M. Lott. Delicious refreshments were served at the close of the meeting meet-ing by Mr. Roberts, Mrs. Eliza Fjeld and Mrs. Juliet Jackson- George T. Strasburg arrived home last Wednesday from a visit in the south and he reports a very enjoy able trip. He visited in Dallas, Kel sey and Gillmore, Texas. While in Dallas he had the pleasure of visiting visit-ing Merlin Fagan, who is fulfilling an L. D. 3. mission there, and re ports him as doing fine work there and eniovlnir Rood health. While there he also visited with Bessie Klrkham, who is doing missionary work there and she sends her greetings greet-ings to her friends and the people of Lehi- George visited many friends in his former missionary fields and enjoyed a pleasant reunion re-union with them. He was gone three weeks. Mrs- Ann Young visited in Provo on Monday with her daughter, Mrs. L. R. Levitre. Joseph Colledge, who has been very ill Is still confined to his bed. Friends will be pleased to hear that he Is slowly improving. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Bradshaw and daughter, Sylvia Jean, were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs- Fred Brad' shaw in Salt Lake, on Sunday. Mrs- Azer Southwick is entertain ing members of the Social club at her home this afternoon (Thursday) Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Sorenson of Oakland, California, arrive in Lehi Saturday to attend the funeral of Mr. Sorenson's grandmother, Mrs- Ellen Jones. Mrs. Arthur Paltridge and son, Danny, of Salt Lake spent Sunday in Lehi, visiting with relatives and friend3. Sunday afternoon dinner guests of Mr- and Mrs. James H. Gray were Mr- and Mrs- Thomas Jones and Mrs. Ellen Webb of Bluffdale, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel N- Crane of Dra per, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Swenson. Mr- and Mrs- M. S. Lott and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jackson spent Sunday Sun-day evening in Salt Lake, visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Morris Trane. Roy Fox returned home Sunday, after spending last week in Salt Lake with his daughter and son,-in-law, Mr. and Mrs- William Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Mason and daughter, Verna, and son, Wayne and Marvin Ashdown of Bountiful, spent Sunday in Lehi, visiting relatives rela-tives and friends- Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Beck and daughters. Progressive card games were played during the evening, after which a delicious luncheon was served- In attendance were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Yates, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wilcox, Wil-cox, Mr. and Mrs- Herman Swen son, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Manning, Jr, the host and hostess. Mrs. James Cameron, Mrs- F. T. McCall of Salt Lake. Mrs. Bob Steele of Eagle, Alaska, and Mrs. William Garlick of Salt Lake were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Klrkham on Friday. Mrs. Steele is Postmistress in Eagle. She came out on the last boat coming from Alaska and will go back aa far as the boat will take her and then make the remainder of the trip by airplane. The trip to Eagle after leaving the boat, formerly took two weeks by dog team and now the trip can be made in one and one-half hours, after leaving the boat at tht cost of fifty dollars an hour. Mrs. Steele lives 3.000 miles from here and this is the first time in seventeen seven-teen years that she has been out into the states. She accompanied her son to a boys school in Cali fornia and called to visit her friends, Mrs. Cameron and Mrs. McCall. in Salt Lake, enroute back to Alaska. She had not seen them for 23 years Mrs- Steele reports having heard Frank Asper and the tabernacle organ or-gan over the radio and was thrilled by making a visit to the tabernacle and taken by a guide around the temple grounds- Miss Mildred Bowles of Nephi spent Saturday night and Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Garrett. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Kirkham en tertained at dinner Friday evening for Mr. and Mrs- Raymond Kirkham Kirk-ham and daughter, Rae Mona, Mr. and Mrs. T. F. Kirkham and daughter, daugh-ter, Bonnie Jean- Mrs. . William Lechimenant of Glendale, , California, arrived in Lehi on Tuesday of last week for a two or three weeks visit here at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Woodhouse and with her sis ters, Mrs. Edward Larsen and Mrs. Eli Batchelor. Misses Jean Fowler, Ruth Rothe and Jean Crabb entertained the Fourth ward Primary officers and teachers at the Fowler home last Wednesday evening. Mr. and ' Mrs. Franklin Jackson and children of American Fork spent Sunday here visiting with Mr. Jackson's parents, Mr. and Mrs-Samuel Mrs-Samuel Jackson. Last Wednesday evening Mr. and Mrs. George Russon entertained at a sumptuous turkey dinner.for their brothers and sisters living. in Lehi. Covers were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Lott Russon, Mr. and Mrs James X. Taylor, Mrs- Elizabeth Russon, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Russon, Mrs. Mary Kirkham, Mrs. Kate Ander son and the host and hostess. The group enjoyed a very pleasant evening eve-ning together. The marriage took place December 15th and the young couple are spending their honeymoon honey-moon in California and will return the latter part of this month to Nevada Ne-vada to make their home.
