Scown, Fairway, Missouri has recently completed a training program to become an airline captain. Mr. Scown was graduated from Lehi High School, in 1945. After the service, Mr. Scown went to San Francisco International Airport to United Airline's overhaul base for three years. After earning an aircraft and engineer license, Scown joined TWA and came to Kansas City to flight engineer school. He spent the next nine years as a flight engineer on constellations. During this time he earned his private pilot's license, flying small planes that he helped build. In May, 1966 he became a copilot and just recently completed the training program for captain. Mr. Scown lives in Fairway with his wife, Laretta, and his four children.
