Show DUP Benefit A dance renew will be sponsored by the four local DUP camps at the American Fork Senior High School Auditorium Saturday, May 14. The dance revue will be presented by the Irene and Sharon Earl School of Dancing. Proceeds win be a contribution to the DUP Relic HalL The revue will begin at 7:30 p.m. and tickets win be available at the door or may be purchased in advance from any member of the DUP or from a participating dance student. Children under five years of age win be admitted free, if accompanied by an adult. The production win feature beautiful costumes and a sparkling array of tap, ballet (both character and classical), toe, and modern Jazz dance numbers. In addition to the students listed In last weeks Citizen, a group of advanced students will present a striking Egyptian number, "In a Persian Market." Culmination of a romtact which began with Mr. Shiba's visits to family members 1b Japan, took place Friday, March 28, with his marriage. The bride, Miss Shine Fujinaml, daughter Serimpians Elect Miss New Officers S. Shiba of Lehi of Mr. and Mrs. Otomatsu Fujinaml of Miho, Japan, exchanged vows with Masakazu Sok Shiba, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Ma-saShiba of Lehi. The civil ceremony was performed at the United States Consulate in Japan. This was followed by a reli-gio- us ceremony. A reception honored the couple at the Minato Restaurant in Shlmlzu, Japan, They toured the area on their honeymoon. The newlyweds remained until April 6, as house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tsuneo Shiba, sister and brother-in-la- w of Mr. Shiba. When the visa for the permanent residence of the bride In the United States was obtained, the couple left by Jet flight to San Francisco. They were honored as newlyweds on the trip. After coming to Utah by plane, they are making their home In Lehi, on the Shiba Farm. ; The new Mrs. Shiba has followed employment In the office K.K. Conof the Sandal-Kogy- o struction Company, In Japan. This is her first time in Amer-Ic- e, although she has an aunt and uncle living in California. She is enjoying her adopted country and the location here, and is greatly Impressed by the vast distances in comparison to her native land. Mr. Shiba, well known farmer and stock producer, is a graduate of Weber College in Ogden, and has attended the University of Utah. He followed a major In mathematics and a minor in A practical demonstration on physical fitness was enjoyed by the members of the Serimpian Club who went to the home of Mrs. Melvin (Dona) Anderson and her gymnasium equipment. They tried out the trampoline method and other exercises. A film was shown and information was given on physical fitness, by Mrs. Anderson, physical education Instructor. The annual election was held at the home of Mrs. Abel J. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Merle B. Smith and Mrs. Glade Dalton. Elected to serve as president was Mrs. Mearle B. They were weekend house guests at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard W. Robinson. They attended convention meetings and also the formal dinner dance, Saturday evening, with dates for the occasion. The entire group Joined in a barbecue out of doorswlth the Robinson family". They attended the morning session of stake conference with the Robinsons, and left for the return to Cedar City Sunday afternoon. Besides having beginning classes, Bob wiU be able to give the more advanced students some vital lnsturction. as ' Society Initiates Members Members of the Lehi High School chapter of the National Honor Society held their annual initiation dinner Monday evening. The dinner was held in the Wilkinson Center on the BYU campus and over 80 members, parents and guests attended. Dr. Dale Nelson, undergraduate scholarship and awards chairman at BYU, was guest speaker. He asked "You are aU above average students here, but above average in what?" He cited examples of 'above average" students In high school who failed in coUege because they were doing what someone else wanted them to do. He urged that each student be "above average" to In this only one person-hims- elf. way they would be doing the things they desired to do and would be able to accomplish much and get a great deal of satisfaction from their efforts. She had been iH for seven months of anemia. She was born Dec 2, 1962, in Salt Lake City. Mr. Roberts, veteran of World War L died suddenly May 2. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He was in a Santa Monica Nursing Home. Mr. Roberts was a native of Lehi, born July 29, 1893, a son of David Roberts, Sr., and Mary Louisa Brown Roberts. He was educated in the Lehi schools and served with the army during World War L He had never married. He had moved to Santa Monica some years ago, to make his home. He is survived by his brother, David Roberts of Lehi, and a sister, Mrs. rieen R. Bridg-ma- n of Santa Monica. Military rites were held last Wednesday with burial in the National Cemetery in San Diego, Calif. While on the coast, Mr. Roberts visited at the home of his daughter. Killed was Delbert FarreU, son of Mrs. Lucille FarreU. He was an employe of IRECO Chemicals Co. The underwater discharge occurred In a pond on the test site. Mr. FarreU was in a small boat near the slurry explosive charge, said Utah County Sheriff Ralph (Dick) Chappie.
