Show a NOD AMERICA'S1 TEXTBOOK Ml A new outbreak of vandalism has started in a few places in Iehi. Hie stake presidency is urging a stop to vandalism to the tabernacle. (See article on front page). And then, of all places, other acts of destruction have been reported at the museum building, now under construction. Boys! If you have to destroy property, please, oh please, don't pick on the poor museum building! Every dollar put into this project has been through voluntary contribution from nearly everyone in the city. So you have a large group against you. And these donated, dollars look as big as wagon wheels. Consequently those who have contributed will do everything possible to protect what they have invest ed. More important to you, the would-b- e vandals is the urgent need for volunteer labor. Yours truly is making a recommendation to the police that anyone caught molesting the museum be given the opportunity to volunteer their labors for several hours for each one devoted to destruction. Think it over. N & N Speaking of the museum there seems to be some misunderstand ing. It was announced in some of our wards last Sunday that $3,000 would complete the museum project. The board of trustees would be happy if this were true. How' ever, it will take several times this amount to complete the museum and bring it into operation. Out of town sources for money have been approached, with some degree of success. But the facts are clear, that the bulk of the mo ney and labor yet to be "raised must come from the citizens of . . The commun ity banquet coming up Nov, could well mean reaching this goal. This is a community project d sup that merits the port of every citizen. It is an un dertaking that Lehi can well be proud of when it is placed on two tour routes one from Salt Lake City and one from Provo. Let's consider the museum as Lehi's No. 1 project' and contri bute until this valuable collection of John Hutchings is housed prop erly. N & N Lehi was left without a bus depot when the State Street Drug discontinued its business on State Street. Since that time, anyone receiving packages, or wishing to catch the bus and be certain of proper connections, has been fore ed to go to American Fork. The Lehi Chamber of Commerce has been trying to change this unhan dy situation by securing a business house in Lehi who will accept the responsibility of acting as an agent, plus asking the bus companies to cooperate in such an effort. W. D. Watkins, Abel Ekins and Forrest Driggs, acting as a committee from the chamber of commerce, are working to establish a bus stop in Lehi. These men should be commended for their efforts. And it is hoped that in the immediate future, Lehi will have a permanent place to catch the bus and receive packages. whole-hearte- Sf I THE LEHI FREE PRESS Whimpey Street Called by Death Bishop Grant Christofferson, both former bishops of the Fourth Ward.
