Warnick, Pleasant Grove, who is general chairman of the contest. Lynett is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Peterson. The county contest is scheduled for June 8 in the Scera Theater. This talented young lady is a senior at Lehi High School where she has participated in many school activities. She is a member of the FHA Club, Forensic Club, and is a twirler in the color guard for the high school band. Lynett is very active in music circles both in school and in the community and has sung with vocal groups and played the violin for many occasions. The events of the day will bring together students of the Orem High School, Lincoln Junior High School, American Fork, Lehi and Pleasant Grove High Schools and Junior High Schools. The day will open with trial ev ents beginning at 9 a.m. that will run through until noon. There will be track and field events, football, tennis, horse shoes, and volleyball, in the boys divisions. For the girls there will be relays, kick pin, badminton, ping pong and volley ball. From 12 o'clock noon until 12:30 p.m. lunch period will be observed. Lunch may be obtained at the school lunch room. A refreshme'ht stand also will be operated on the grounds all day. One of the most colorful events of the day will be demonstrations in precision marching by the Pep Clubs of the four high schools. Approximately 200 girls in costumes accenting the individual school colors will participate. This event is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. and the public is invited to attend. Beginning at 1 p.m. there will be finals in the events for boys of the senior high schools and Ninth Grade boys which will last until 4:30 p.m. Officials and judges for the day will be members of Alpine School District Office and faculty members from all participating schools. Carl is working out with the squad every evening at the Vets' Memorial park and is highly encouraged with some of the talent new and old who are working hard to get into shape for the league opener May 22 at the Vets' Park at 8 p.m. This game with Payson was originally scheduled to be at Payson on May 24; but due to a mixup on the use of the grounds.
