Counselor Mildred Zimmerman took charge and presented the gifts to Mable Taylor. Elfreda Bushman, Beth Young, Phebe Innes, Florence Powell, Chorister director; magazine Audrey Wilson and Organist Belva Johnson. Luncheon was served at long tables attractively decorated with bowls of pansies and lilacs. The cooking committee includes Or.i LaRue Prior, Agnes Powers, Evans, Leah Sabey, Zola Rutledge and Barbara Lewis. The meeting opened with the singing of "If There's Sunshine in Your Heart," and prayer by Ethel Watkins. Mildred Kirkham gave the work day lesson and Elfreda Bushman offered the blessMiss Lynett ing on the food. Peterson played an appealling violin selection, accompanied by Elaine Haws. Mrs: Margaret McMillan and Mrs. Florence Powell sang, "Those Songs My Mother Used to Sing," with Belva Johnson Mrs. Helen G. as accompanist. Jones gave a reading and Audrey Wilson gave a tribute to the teachers. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thomas and children, Craig and Kerry Lee, of Salt Lake City, visited here last week with Mr. and Mrs. Lyall Wilson, a sister, and Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Parry. Jones were all heard from during the sessions. President Jones conducted the conference and several wre called from the congregation to spak. Mina Wignall, first lieutenant, and June Costello were present. The North Utah County chorus sang two selections, "Hearths and Homes," and "Beautiful Zion for Me." Fern Russon is a member of the chorus. Lehi camps were represented at the meet. Rex Southwick, a director of the Lehi Fire Department, was appointed to the force three years ago during the period when membership on the force was greatly increased. He has taken an active and part in the department work, and has served on the dance finance committee and as chairman of the party committee. This year he is a member of the important purchasing committee. Morgan Evans Announcement was made this week of the engagement of two sisters of Pleasant Grove, Miss Charlyn Thorne and Miss Gayle Thome, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. J. LeRoy Thorne. Charlyn, who has marked July as her wedding month, will marry Morgan Evans of this city, who is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ruel Evans. The exact date will be announced. The bride-elegraduated from Pleasant Grove High School and LDS Seminary and has attended Brigham Young University. During her high school years, she was active in music circles, and also served as a cheer leader for three f A native of Lehi, lie is a son ot Mr. and Mrs. Eldred Southwick. He attended Lehi High School, where he was a member of the track team for two years. Rex has been employed as an electrician at Dugway for a yeai and a half, and at Geneva Stee! Plant for the past nine years. Ho studied electricity, and has worked up through the different rates to his present job. Rex has been a prominent figure in civic and club affairs. He served as president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, and has headed many drives and com mittees for that organization. He has worked on the publicity committee for the Lehi Roundup fo" three years, and is currently serving as chairman of the Mental Health fund drive. At Geneva, he is on the board of directors of the open hearth maintenance benefit fund. His favorite hobbies are boating and water skiing, and he spends a good deal of his spare time in and improving his remodeling home and yard. He is married to the former Anna June Haws, and they have three children, Lynn, Tressa and Tony.
