The cleanout may be a vitrified clay, asbestos or cast iron soil pipe, except the 2 feet of the cleanout must be of a cast iron and have a 4 inch brass cleanout plug leading into the cast iron pipe. The top of the cleanout should be set from 3 feet to 6 feet below the surface of the ground.
