Show FRIDAY, MAV 6. 1M UTAH VOMEIIS CLUBS TO HOLD IIEcT J. Kingston of Salt Mrs. O. With Our Missionaries A meeting of the parents of Lehi missionaries was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. A. K. Chatfield, Thursday, April 28, with Mrs. Fern Russon in charge ad Mrs. Lorena Abbot acting secretary. After singing and prayer, an address of welcome was made by Mr. Chatfield and minutes of the previous meeting were read. Reports on the boys, in the order of their departure for their mission fields, were called for from the roll and made by the parents. Lisle T. Russon, now released and due to sail for home, on May 9th on the Matson steamer Lux-lin- e was reported by his father, Erastus Russon. Lisle has had many and varied experiences since the last report, both temporal and spiritual. Recently a woman who once belonged to our church, started a church of her own following, somewhat the pattern of the group we know as the Holy Rollers. She succeeded in drawing away several of our members who were weak in the faith and inactive and in turn Lisle and his companion have been able by patience and diligent teaching to show them the errors they have made and won some of them back. The hoys have also baptized several children of members who have failed to have this done. Stanley Abbot in Brandsnon, Labem, Czechoslovakia, was reported by his mother, Mrs. Lorena Abbot. He is progressing very well in learning the language and is happy because he may stay in the field beyond his two lf and years because no other missionaries can go there for some time. He says the element of fear is present everywhere. Always the doors of the houses, and the gates in fences . . . tunities for gospel conversations. El wood Hunt was reported by phone by his mother Mrs. J. T. Hunt. He is at Calipatria, Cali fornia, a settlement on the border of Mexico and California. He is well and with his companion, is very busy, because of the release of some of the Elders who labored there. They are anxiously waiting for some new elders to be sent into that district as there is much to be done. will be released in the near future. Wayne A Goates, laboring in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, was reported by his father, Herman C. Goates who had talked with Wayne's mission president, S. Dilworth Young at conference. President Young said Wayne has a gift for being able to settle difficulties and had recently been sent to a district where a person with a keen sense of humor as well as tolerance and understanding is needed. Presidtnt Goates stated that the spiritual uplift results when missionaries return to their homes from their fields. This report will be continued next week.
