Members of the family gathered at the family home at a dinner party in her honor. Relatives and friends called at the home all day Sunday and Saturday to greet Mrs. Taylor on her anniversary. Still active and keen ing informed on: all political issues both national and local, and keeping in touch with all civic improvements, Mrs. Taylor is able to converse on any subject. She spends a great deal of her time with her crochet hook, and doing needle work. She also carries on her pet hobby of raising and caring for canary birds. Mrs. Taylor was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England, July 11, 1844. a daughter of Isaac W. and Margaret Ann Slinn Fox. She came to Utah in 1860, arriving in Salt Lake City in October of that year. She came to Lehi a few days later and since then has made her home here. She married Samuel R. Taylor in the old L. D. S. endowment house at Salt Lake City, Nov. 1. 1861. He died many years ago. Mrs. Taylor has taken a prominent part in civic and church affairs. She worked in the Relief Society organization, in the presidency, as a teacher and as a Sunshine worker. She is a member of the Snow Springs camp, daughters of Utah Pioneers. He needs no evidence other than his own conscience to tell him that driving when his reactions arc numbed by alcohol is a cardinal traffic sin. The drinking driver does not think. For his benefit the following statistics are offered. They are taken from 1936 accident reports analysed by The Travelers Insurance Company. Of all drivers in fatal accidents, 7.3 per cent had been drinking. This is an increase of eight per cent over ac1935. Of all drivers in l cidents, 4.3 per cent had been drinking. While these figures are based on a broad spread of official state reports, the accuracy of the picture they present will be questioned because of differences of opinion as to what constitutes drunken driving. Even worse is the record of pedestrians. One out of nine pedestrians killed in 1S."6 was under the influence of liquor. And 5.3 per cent of all pedestrians injured had been dr'oking. non-fata- en j tained by attending this meeting. A attendance is desired.
