M., on Saturday, when Elder Raman D. Watkins talked with his parents, Mr. and Mm. W. D. Watkins. Elder- Watkins has been laboring in the mission field in the Southwest Indian Mission of the LDS Church, with headquarters in Gallup, N. M. His present assignment is.Ganado. PAUL 10c THAYN In rites solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple Wednesday morning, June 4, Miss Dorthea Jane Kalmar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Niels W. Kalmar and Paul H. Thayn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer A. Thayn, exchanged wedding promises. Elder Joel Richards officiated at the ceremony. Accompanying the young couple to the Temple were the following: Paul Antone Kalmar of Granger, grandfather of the bride. Mr. and Mrs. Homer A. Thayn and Mrs. Maggie Hansen of Wellington, parents and an aunt of the groom, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Peterson of Orem, Mr. and Mrs. Clive E. Beal. Mrs. Ben Jorgensen, Mr. and Mrs. Eldred Fox, Mrs. Vilate Coates. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Bullock and Mrs. Douglas Calton. A wedding dinner was served at the Tiome of the groom parents fol j lowing me ceremony. In the Ward that Third-Seven- th same evening the new Mr. and Mrs. Thayn greeted their guests, standing before floral basket arrangements of orange blossoms and white peonies. The radiant brunette bride was arowned in a model of nylon French lace and ruffled net. The lace bodice featured a yole of pleated tulle traced with sequins, a high neckline, and long sleeves ending in lily points. The bouffant skirt was fashioned of ruffled net with a lace overskirt, and her bridal crown of pearls and sequins held a finger-ti- p veil of sheer illusion. The bridal bouquet was of feathered white carnations, surrounding a lavender orchid with white satin streams. Attending the bride were Miss Marnell Thayn, maid of honor, sister of the groom; Miss Kaye Peterson, Miss JoAnn Evans, - Miss Linda Fox, Miss Jefrjeane Whim-peMiss Kaye Webb and Miss Lorna Coates, bridesmaids; and Lynn Wright and Leslie Wright, flower girls. The attendants were frocked alike in lavender crystelete styled with full skirts, puff sleeves and square neckline, and sashes. The maid of honor chose a sheath model of like design and they all wore, hats of white roses. Their accessories were also white, and their bouquets were of roses with lavender ribbon trim. The tiny flower miniature girls wore models of lavender and carried nosegays of white and lavender. Mrs. Kalmar, the bride's mother chose a heath model of green nylon chiffon with a sash falling in graceful back folds. Her acThe cessories were in beige. groom's mother chose a gown of pink lace with white accessories. Their corsages were of lavender Dutch Iris. Greeting guests at the door were Mr. and Mrs. Clive E. Beal and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Joreensen. Best man duties were performed by the groom's brother. Ronald Thayn and the ushers were Raeldon Barker and Wayne Carl- ioii. Mrs. riaonce wgonara. a cousin of the gride, was seated at the guest book, while Sherrie Coates, Gaylen and Richard Snyder took the gifts at the door. Mrs. Paul Snyder of Wellington, a sister of the groom, Mrs. Vilate Coates, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Jorgensen, and Mrs. Maggie Hansen and Mrs. Byron Cox, both of Wellington, had charge of the Classmates of the new serving. Donna Rasmus- sen, Darlene Norris, Deanna Ger- - - 24-HOU- Second Feature 1HH Mother of .Year In Elko is Kin Of Lehi Residents Camp Institute Slated For MIA June Conference Mrs. Lewis Sharp, resident of Ruby Valley, Nevada nearly all her life and mother of five boys, was honored as Elko's Typical Mother of 1958" by the Elko Jay-cee- s, according to word received by Lehi relatives. Mrs. Sharp, the former Florence Wines, a daughter of Ira D. and Margaret Wines, was born in Lehi, In connection wtth the MIA June Conference in Salt Iake City, a Camp Institute will be held on Thursday, June 1Z at the Tracy Wigwam in Mill Creek Canyon in southeast Salt Lake County, according to Mrs. Beda Peck, Lehi Ske MIA president. The opening session will start at December 10, 1884, where the family lived briefly, and grew up in a family of 12 children. She attended school m Ruby Valley, as well as Rowland Hall in Salt Lake City. Her father was the donor of the Margaret Wines Park in Lehi, named in honor of his wife. She is the mother of five boys. Clarence. Blaine, Lewis. Jr.. Grant and David, as well as rearing a niece, Mrs. Lila Younger Miller. She and her husband now reside in Elko. Mrs. Sharp has been active in civic affairs and is president of the Elko Twentieth Century Club, past chief of the Pythian Sisters,-pas- 8 a. m. i On Saturday, June 14. at 9 a. m., in the Salt Lake Tabernacle, a meeting will convene for all stake and ward MIA presidencies, superintendencies and priesthood advisors. Departmental sessions will take place in various wards in Salt Lake City on Saturday morning, beginning at 9 a. m., for all MIA stake and ward leaders, who will be notified of exact meeting places. The serving area was marked with satin streamers attached to baskets of peonies and orange blossoms in white and following the wedding decor and the serving table was covered with a lace cloth and featured a tiered jvedding cake of lavender and white with tiny temple and bride and groom as the motiff. The individual servine fables were covered with white linen cloths and the centerpieces of white and lavender were fashioned by Mrs. Gwen Dorton and Mrs. Alta Wan-las- s. Miss Karla Mork furnished organ background music for the reception. For the- - honeymoon trip to the Northwest, the new Mrs. Thayn donned a white polished cotton model with light blue accessories. The newlyweds will make their home in Lehi while the groom will resume his studies at the "Y" this fall. Army Fkvtronie Proving Ground in Cumberland Hills", a field training exercise involving more than 6.000 troops at Fort Bragg, N. C. Colonel Johnson is regularly assigned as chief of organization and training with the proving ground at Fort Huachuca. Ariz. He entered the Army in 1941 and was last stationed in France. Mrs. Peterson then bound the sheaf and presented it to Rex Zimmerman, counselor in the ward bishopric. Lola Webb who has recently received the Silver Gleaner honor, gave a response. A vocal trio, composed of Dixie Peck, Sandra Phillips and Elaine Haws. "The Lord Is Myj Shepherd," was accompanied by Mrs. Zada Phillips. A talk followed by Mrs. Owen Ash of Pleasant Grove, after which the closing prayer was given by Kaye Peterson.
