Mr. and Mrs. William Sheppard Sandra Taylor Married to William Sheppard in Double Ring Rites LI)S GBADS VTTEND HOMECOMING Mrs. Laura Strasburg and Mrs. Melba Rolfe of Lehi, and Mrs. Ruth Fage of Pleasant Grove, and Mrs. Angus Brown, American Tork, were among those attending the Homecoming exercises at Saints Hospital in 'he Latter-da- y Salt Lake City, last Wednesday. All are graduates of the hospital. The affair was held at the new Nurses home there. Main speaker was Dr. Ralph T. Richards, original member of the first staff. The group enjoyed luncheon and a tour of the hospital. Included were the new blood bank and X-R- ay si - ---m son, former bishop and uncle of the bride. The impressive rites were witnessed by the immediate families, aunts and uncles of the bride, and a few close friends. The new Mrs. Sheppard was attended by her sister, Mrs. Marvin L. Nelson, Jr., as matron of honor, Miss Bon Neta Russon and Miss Michel Taylor, a sister, as bridesmaids. For the wedding and the reception immediately following, the bride wore imported French organdy, designed with a very full skirt with nylon embroidered organdy insertion, over organdy and taffeta. A demure square neckline and short sleeves com with daisies and fern. Mr. and Mrs. O. R. Ivory greeted the guests at the door. Mrs. G. R. Taylor and Mrs. Wane Christensen were in charge of gifts. During the receiving, Mrs. Naomi Shaw and Stanley M. Taylor, Jr., provided a background of music. Built on a 24 acre landscaped site, the new building is considered to be one of the most distinctive of its type in the Intermountain area. Tiis new structure features the most modern of building materials and equipment. All offices are protected from the sun rays by 6.100 square feet of tinted Solex glass. Room temperatures can be controlled in each individual office and an over-size- d precipitron filters 95 per cent of dust and foreign matter from the air. An interesting note is the manner in which the decoretion scheme and furniture design have been made to harmonize and compliment each other, Every piece of furniture in the building has been designed as a functional unit and was manufactured of the finest walnut stock. Also contained in the building is a completely modern kitchen and lounge for employees. Light ing can be provided by means of sun lamps installed in the ceiling of the lounge in addition to the regular lighting. Highlights of the new structure are the reception rooms, the terrazzo tile patio and the unique executive penthouse lounge. The penthouse lounge has been so arranged to command a view of Mt. Timpanagos on the north and Mt. Nebo on the south and is almost completely surrounded by picture windows. New to the general office is a board room at the extreme east end of the building. Parking facilities for employees and visitors is provided in a lighted parking area to the west of the building. General contractor on" their new building was Mark Garff, Ryberg & Garff, Salt Lake City. Architects were Warren, Knight & Davis of Birmingham, Alabama, with Claude Shephard Ashworth, Provo, acting as supervising architect Interior decoration, furniture and furnishings was handled jointly by Carroll Sagar & Associates and Paul Robinson Hunter, both of Los Angeles, California. Laval S. Morris of Logan, was landscape architect. With the completion of this new general office building the Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company has been continuously adding to their facilities begun in 1926. In 1949 a $3,500,000 Super deLavaud Cast Iron Pressure Pipe plant was put in operation. Because of its ideal location in Provo, this company is able to serve the eleven western states, the adjacent Canadian areas, as well as the Hawaiian Islands and Alaska. The compny supplies to the Waterworks and Gas utilities of this area a complete line of cast iron pipe and fittings up to 24 inches in diameter. Production includes all standard joints, mechanical joint pipe and the McWand Precalked Joint.
