Show It seems as if the intensely partisan feoling for the few past years witnessed in politics1 in Utah is fast dying out and the people are looking more to put capable men in office' locally. Th'fi habit has been to nominate a few capable men on the ticket and then give the other nominations to men whose only claim for recognition rec-ognition seems to be a need, for the salary of the office, and then the party would appeal- to the charity of the people.; ,Tlie taxpayers tax-payers now realise that it js .to their interest to put none 1 but good men into oflice. Each' of the old parties this year has a few charity nominees on their ticket and as a consequence there will be but few straight ticUetscast on election day. The few who, will vote for all their party nominee belong to a class who 'cannot think or reason for themselves. If the voters are careful in making their selection from each of the tickets this year, a first-class setoE county officials will be elected. |
