NTIFUL FARMINGTON One of the most heavih traveled interurban routes in lt.;h, l. s. high 89 between Bountiful and Farmington was doubled in services to motorists Wednesday with the opening of two new lanes to northbound traffic. Addition of the two north bound lanes, begun Nov. 2, 1948, cost some $785,000. Approximately 275,000 cubic yards of excavation were called for in grading the roadbed and 76,450 cubic yards of concrete were poured to make the lill-ithick surfacing. Hard surface of the road is 24 it. wide and extends 5.853 miles north of Bountiful. Contractor for both the grading and surfacing was Strong Co., Springville. Future plans for the road include making it a limited access highway. Construction is underway on some of the sideroads that will ieed traffic into the main route. n Parley Set On Planning BOUNTIFUL The newly District Planning Commission in the south end of Davis county will meet Thursday In the South Bountiful ward chapel at 7 30 p.m. According to L. Clifford Olsen, chairman, the meeting avill be epened to all property owners in the unincorporated areas of the south end of the county. It requested that those attending be prepared to suggest a name for the planning district because it is required by law that the citizens choose a name for the is commission. Mrs. Francis M. Seegmiller, also a guest speaker, traced the efforts that had been made from the beginning to secure the library.
