Layton Water COUNTY FAIR n DATE AUG. 26-2- 7 Now that the press the program for the Davis County Fair on Aug. 26 and 27 is ready for your review. Two days of fair life is something that every- person m Daws county can look forward to On Aug 26 there will be displayed the iinest that the produce and Inestoik l)aix county has. This w.ll be an inflation to all Our pioneers depended almost entirely on their farm eiops and livestock to lay the Inundation tor the economy of Davis county and when we think back over the years and see the progress made and view the products of this grand industry our farms take on an added importance, and we are led to woneler what changes that the future may hold for them. True some of us may have lost touch with the farms in our every-dalife; but they are just as important today as they were when the county was settled by the pioneers. The County Fair is the place where all can see the progress made in supplying the American home with its bounteous healthy foods and the place where new improved methods are displayed and talked over in producing them. We have now only seen some of the rewards nature gives man for his toil with the soil. Follow these as they are touched by the master hand of the housewife and you will find yourself in a magic fairyland. Wheat turns to bread and cake and by adding some fruit becomes a pie and thousands of other transformations take place as our food is prepared. Our clothing is fashioned by the same deft hands. These planned results are on display so that you and I can see and learn to enrich ourselves by using them what fine teamwork. What the husband garners the housewife refines for food and clothing. The County Fair provides a place to display these wonderful accomplishments and other attractions are also provided. Sports are included to give an added diversion as well as good clean entertainment and an opportunity to show our best talents in these outdoor events. A tug of war, childrens races and many other features make up the program. Then as the evening shadows lengthen and the cool air from the mountains settles down we can take a place among the crowd and enjoy a fine vaudeville show on Friday night This should leave. us refreshed and ready to go again Saturday when the horse pulling contest starts the djy at one p.m. followed by baseball, tennis and other events during the afternoon. To close a perfect two day county fair is the horse show by the Davis county sheriffs posse and a rodeo to round out the evening. The Davis county fair has something to refresh our lives.
