LAYTON, DAVIS COUNTY, UTAH JUME 14 We may well be proud of our flag the flag thas has, since its birth, stood for free- " dom, liberty, the dignity of man. The Red, White and Blue have witnessed many changes in our nation . . . but never a change in the fundamental spirit that gave - ' it being. The flag has stood cause there have the test of time. Bealways been people who believed in what our flag stood for, ready to work and fight in its support. Because there will always be such people, we can look forward to the future with confidence Qnd courage. In this day the flag has become greater than a national emblem it has become a symbol of hope and . encouragement for people throughout the world. For the shackled masses who grope in the darkness of concepts and enforced servitude the American flag has become the light that holds forth promise. For the twilight nations, whose destiny wavers between the black pit of slavery and the bright dawn of freedom, the American flag gives its message of strength and determination in the right. And for those free nations who now look to their strength, the flag has become the rallying point. sub-mor- al |
