CLEARFIELD NEWS Local seventy quorum held a meeting Sunday morning at Sunset ward chapel. Business problems and plans lor the coming month were presented and discussed. Annual roller skating party spon sored by the Clearfield Second ward Sunday school was held Friday evening at the Berthana, in Ogden. In charge of plans were Victor Smith, A. W. Caine and Milton Hadfield. Many from the ward attended, including the leaders, Bishop and Mrs. Clarence J. Stoker, Counselors James N. Wallace and J. Kay Nelson and their wives. A good time was had by all. Transportation was provided for all members without cars. Mr. and Mrs. Roland Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin G. Wood returned a few days ago from a trip by auto thru Texas and Louisiana. Home from a trip by train to Seattle, Washington are Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Starks. They visited with relatives and friends. A daughter was bom recently to Sgt. and Mrs. Roy A. Hardison at Hill air base hospital. Mrs. Hardison is formerly aMurine Forbes of Clearfield. A wedding reception in honor Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd of newly-wedK. Hamblin was given last Friday evening in the North Davis Junior high school by Mr. and Mrs. Emil A. Neilson of Salt Lake City parents of the bride. The new Mrs Hamblin is the former Wilda Neilson, who is employed as a clerk typist at Hill air base. Mr. Hamblin, also employed at Hill air base, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Hamblin of Clearfield. The couple were married in the Salt Lake temple. For her reception, the bride wore a veil, and a lovely gown of white brocaded satin. Her attendants were, Mrs. Carl Bee as matron of honor and Miss Donna Neilson and Miss Norma Hamblin, as bridesmaids. All wore formal gowns in pale pastel shades. The brides mother and the bridegrooms mother wore gowns of fuchia crepe and green crepe respectively. Best man was, Carl Bee Assisting in serving and in the gift room were, Mrs. Ted Hamblin, Mrs. Elmer Jones, Mrs. Amos Stoddard, Dean Stoddard, ' Dean Stoddard, George Hamblin, Irene Hamblin, Kate Hamblin, Sherrie Hamblin, Donna Hamblin and Lois a included Stoddard. Program musical Hilda Jones, reading by numbers by the Neilson family, and two dances, "Traveling Dance and "Hoop Dance by three Indians, directed by Chief John Byrd. Master of ceremonies was, Amos Stoddard. There was a grand march, and the wedding waltz, "I Love You Truly. Music was by Neilson family. At the annual state high school debating tournament helf recently s, at Weber college, In Ogden, among the winners was, LaJean Nelson. Representing the Davis high school La Jean and Sherry Lee Hudson of Bountiful won second place in the womens debating division. La Jean also won second place in oratory. Davis high school was award ed the trophy on points. The Clearfield girl is the daughter of Counselor J. Kay Nelson of the Second ward bishopric and Mrs. Nelson.
