North Davis stake was held last week in the Layton ward chapel with supervision by the presidency, G. Harold Holt, Roy Cook, and Calvin Corbridge. Welfare meeting was conducted Saturday evening with Bishoprics and Relief society presidencies of the various wards in attendance to present their problems and to receive instructions. Bishop larence J. Stoker of Clear-HelSecond ward presided over the Bishoprics. Sunday conference sessions were held at 10 a.m., and 2 pjxx. with Elder Stephen L. Richards of the Quorum of the Twelve, as principal speaker. The stake M. I. A. meeting scheduled for the evening was cencelled due to the storms and dangerous rodas. Visiting Teachers report meeting and social of the First wrad Relief society was held last Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Edna Ellis, seertary-treasureof the organization. A demonstration of needle art work was conducted under the supervision of Mrs. Irma The lesson, Teachers' Baggs. Topis was given by Mrs. Mary Blood. Refreshments were served to the group of ladies. Mutual Improvement Association ol L. D. S. Clearfield First ward at a meeting held last Tuesday evening in the chapel, appoinpted a queen and attendents to rule over the annual ward Gold and Green Ball. In the royalty contest. Gleaner Girls drew marked red roses, One Two Three from a bouquet held in theh ands of Mrs. Teresa Bingham. president of the Y. W. M. I. A: Winners were. Queen, Roma Park, and attendants, Maxine Smith ana Verla Sessions, he dance will be held next Wednesday evening in the North Davis junior high school. Friday evening in the North avis junior high school the Second ward M. I. A. held is annual Gold and Gren ball. Queen LaJean Nelson ruled over the formal affair, assisted by her attendants, Lola Mae Redford and Barbara Hender. The girls were chosen from the Gleaner class on the percentage' basis, specifying bets attendance to all ward church meetings including Sacrement services. During the intermision there was a flor show giving exhibitions of the three-steand Spanish Waltz by M. I. A. workers. Music was furnished by the Shorty Ross orch estra of Ogden. Budget tickets gained admittance.
