Kent David George owners Nielsen of Farmington, Mellor of Layton and Nichols of Roy are the of a small chain of d stores which consists of a Dairy Queen in Layton, the Ogden City Mall and now Centerville. The partnership is known officially as KDG Dairy Queen, Inc. Initials are from the first names of the partners, Kent, David and fast-foo- Kays-vill- e, George. Each partner, with the help of his wife, manages one of the Dairy Queens. David Mellor and his wife, Gayle, who live in Layton Hills, manage the Layton Dairy Queen. Mellor was a sixth grade teacher at the Clearfield and Holt elementary schools before joining the partnership. George and Ann Nichols are residents of Roy. They formerly owned and operated the Red Steer Drive in at Clearfield. They are managers of the Dairy Queen at the Ogden City Mall. Kent Nielsen and his wife, Thelma, make their home in Farmington. The Nielsens operated a Dairy Queen in Layton 4. for 15 years then moved its location to Kaysville and managed it there for the following seven years. Their present job is that of getting the Centerville Dairy Queen under way. Their daughter, Andrea, is managing the Kaysville Dairy Queen. Nielsen is optimistic about the new Dairy Queen.
