The choirs were critiqued by Dr. Charles Hirt and, although there were no ratings given, Dr. Hirt commented on the mature sound that the Davis Concert .Choir worked successfully to achieve. Davis was one of two schools that received the following comment from Dr. Hirt. PTA Awards Top Honorhonor LAYTON A special highlighting his grade school years was awarded to Shane Gibby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Gibby, of Layton, by the Davis Central PTA Council. Shane was named winner of the 1983 E.G. King Elementary and the Davis Central PTA Council Reflection contest The Davis Central PTA Council involves the participation of 5 schools. Shanes entry was a pencil drawing of a pony express rider. Shane received a certificate of 1 for outstanding recognition achievement in art and a trophy. E.G. King Elementary also presented a certificate of achievement in music.
