In fact, nearly all 760 Holt students have spent time in the office over the past week. While it is true that summer vacation is nearly here and children are finding it harder to behave, these kids arent visiting the office for discipline. They are going to visit Principal Julie Goble to read to her. Each spring, Goble makes it a practice to hear all of Holts students read. Kindergarten through sixth graders can pick a page of their favorite poem or story to share with their principal. Goble sits right down on the floor in a circle with the elementary school students. The children take turns reading a selection of their choice to their principal. It gives me a chance to kind of be on their level, the principal said.
