This tree, at Autumn Clowr Senior Center, was weighted down with unusual ornaments. It was so heavy that it was tipping forward with the gifts nd-knitted, crocheted or purchased. Colorful slippers, gloves, mittens, hats and scarves decorated the tree. The senior citizens at the center completed their annual Christmas project this week, in time for children from Head Start families to pluck their own mittens and hats from the tree. The w inter clothing w as do- nated by seniors to needy famines. The items were purchased or handmade by seniors Amelia Sorensen, Nellie Pilcher, Marty Martin, Lea Holman, Miriam Taylor, Lois Lynch and Carol Black. At least 80 items hung from the branches, in sizes that fit tiny babies, toddlers, children and even adults. Norma Willden donated toys to the children as they came to pick their mittens and hats. She also brought shoes and boots in , case there was a child in need of these items.
