The new office is located at 2050 N. Main in the Antelope Square shopping plaza. Stephen L. Thompson, manager of the Layton branch and vice president of the bank, said the Layton branch is the banks third branch office. Davis County Bank is a ned bank, Thompson said. The bank had its start in Farmington in 1892. Thompson said the bank has its main office in Farmington. A branch office was opened in' Centerville two years ago. The Layton branch office is currently located in a mobile home near Arbys. but bank officials plan to build a permanent structure in the plaza within the next year. The Layton branch has scheduled a grand opening celebration for Feb. 13 through 17. The bank will give away door prizes and hold a drawing for a micro-waoven, a snowmobile and a K-M- ve served and free gifts will be given to those visiting the bank, Thompson said. Thompson said bank officials have long felt the need for a branch office in the north end of the county, since the bank serves the entire county. In the past the bank has . self-employ-ed curity credits, se- commonly referred to as quarters of coverage. A certain number of credits are needed for a person to qualify for social security benefits. For 1984, a person who works emin social security-covere- d ployment earns one quarter of coverage for every $390 of covered earnings, up to a maximum of, four quarters for the year. Jerry Collins to serve as the liaison between the citys businesses and the base.
