Page 13B Festival Aids Hospital The community of the decorated super-eve- proudly announces a NATIONAL and donated by generous, ESSAY holiday season, the tenth annual creative friends of the medical center. Festival of Trees, is being held at the The trees will be purchased by Salt Palace in Salt Lake City through businesses, church and civic groups, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. each and individuals who are invited to day. The event is sponsored by the Womens Endowment Committee of Primary Childrens Medical Center and benefits charity patients treated at the hospital. In 1979, Primary Childrens spent $1,320,960 in the treatment of 1,095 children whose families were unable to pay the expenses. A substantial source of that amount is Festival of Trees. Chairwoman for this festival is Marsha McNeil with Barbara Frazier and Norma Gephart assisting. The festival will feature its own forest of 220 Christmas trees, each uniquely submit silent bids on Tuesday, according to Carla Vietti and Loraine Spiers, who head tree arrangements. For those seeking unusual Christmas gifts, there will be a boutique stocked with handmade quilts, Christmas decorations, pillows, toys, and stuffed animals. Homemade candies, cakes, pies, rolls, breads, and gingerbread houses can be purchased in the Festival Sweet Shoppe to supplement holiday larders. And for the young at heart of all ages who attend, there will be suckers, popcorn balls, filled stockings, and other treats. The student council sponsored the contest and awarded trophies to a winner from each grade. National winners will be announced February 27, 1981. The statewide winners will be announced February 14, 1981, during the Utah Press Association's annual convention. Event Tuesday Will Honor Auditions Slated Retiring College Official jj At Weber State .Auditions will be held for Telltale Theatre in the Theatre of the Weber State College Browning Center from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, according to Dr. T. Leonard Rowley, director. I Telltale Theatre is a production composed of folk tales, which will be presented in the Monson Theatre next March. The theatre has previously been known as the Cellar Theatre. I Those auditioning should be prepared to tell a story It least one minute in length. A folk tale is preferred, but a story by Hans Christian Andersen or the Brothers Grimm is also acceptable. Those Auditioning will also be asked to respond to direction iji an impromptu situation. There is no firm limit oh the size of the cast, said ftowley. Those who demonstrate ability and interest in working as part of a team will be included within reasonable limits, of course. I cant use a cast of thousands. Rowley also said that auditions are open to any person who will be a registered student at WSC during the winter quarter. Those who audition on the first day will be given s preference, and the second day will be for and for those who cannot possibly make the first days auditions, said Rowley.
