Larsen, a pharmacist at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City does research for the University of ;Utah. In his spare time, he works at home as an artist. Each room of his home boasts creative samples of his work. In his dining room is found a striking still life painting of a bowl of onions. HThis painting was entered in the 'Deseret News Art Show at the Salt be.Palace where art is fore the show. That is, the artists enter their work and judges select the paintings that are displayed. Larsen paints both landscapes and still life, but prefers to do figures and portraits. He also does paintings for decoration such as a huge cartoon like lion he did for his sons room. He prefers to work with water colors and acrylics. Larsen was recently commis-- ; sioned by a lady to do a sentimental painting of an old home. As the home had since been changed and expanded by remodeling, the paint-- ! ing had to be constructed from old photographs which showed only parts of the home.
