Show 4B lakeside Review, Wednesday, Nov. 4, 1981 Cats Worry Davis, Viewmont 4 Volleyball WX is Spoiler in Region from region 4. In the other Tuesday (Nov. 3) game, Bountiful plays Viewmont in a cross town rivalry that is always up for grabs. Viewmont has a solid lock on 2nd place, but a loss by Bountiful and Highland and a win by Woods Cross would send the three teams into a tie for 4th place. Highland and Bountiful draw the 1st and 2nd place teams in region 4. Davis and Viewmont are both using this games as a tuneup for the State tournament. If Bountiful were to defeat Viewmont or Highland defeat Davis and East lose to Woods Cross there would end up a tie for 3rd and 4th place. The combinations are endless. Woods Cross with nothing to lose has really turned the last weeks games into a real horse race. As of the last week in October the region 4 standings were as follows : Davis Viewmont East Bountiful and Highland Woods Cross ; With the State games starting November 9th, there wont be much time for playoff games so a toss of the coin may be the only way of deciding which team will fill the fourth place slot. BY SHERILIN ROWLEY REVIEW CORRESPONDENT Volleyball in region 4 took a complete turnabout this week with Woods Cross making a charge at the final 4. I really didnt know what the standings were, we just wanted to upset a few teams. Now it looks like we have a shot at 4th place, said Debbie Peel coach of the Wildcats. Last week Woods Cross took both 2nd place Viewmont and league leading Davis to 3 games before dropping the matches. Woods Cross is a young team and is just now starting to come on. This week they upset Highland on Tuesday and took Bountiful on Thursday. If they can defeat East on Tuesday (Nov. 3) they may have a chance of going to state. Im not going to tell the kids anything before the game, just go out and have a good time. I Bopt want to put any pressure on them. They just dont have enough experience to handle it. ' - Davis continues to win with wins : over Viewmont and East this week. They played Highland Tues (Nov. 3) and a loss there would change nothing for first place, but in Highlands case, a win would mean they would become the 4th place team ; ; : Skiing, 3-- 6, i 5:30-6:3- 0 . 5:30-6:3- 8-- 10 Grand Opening Patty Wells a Sherry Totaro A soccer for 9 - 10-ye- ar on the North Layton Junior High football ' Interpretive Grand Opening The tournaments will start at 9 a.m. and go until 4.
