Welling said the school could probably be relocated in about 30 days. The present home will be sold and will need to be moved by the new owners to another site, he said. The alternative high school is a program that began operation in the district in 1976. It is patterned after the Granite School Districts alternative high school. Vi Palmer, school director, said the school is for students who have difficulty attending class in a normal school setting. Many are students who have had social or academic problems. Many have been in various state programs, she v said. Many of the students are lacking in social and academic skills and in self esteem, she said. There are 206 students enrolled at the school at present. About 150 students have graduated from the school so far, she said. She said that only about 20 percent of the students at the school do not graduate.
