VIKINGS THE have already proved this point in preseason as they have had their valleys and highs. in the Against Brighton opener the club showed their inexperience as a pressing type Bengal squad handed them a loss. Then last week they ran Bonneville right out of the gym and on Friday they led Olympus by 14 going into the final quarter only to see the Titans come back to pull out the two point win. AS THEIR coach, Ron Johanson points out theyll be exciting to watch, some of the things they do on the floor amaze me. To show their lack of experience the Vikes only have five seniors on the club and actually only one of them saw much action a year ago. They are young as far as years in class for their the Bonneville win and triggered the fast break. Senior Scott Barlow (63) is right behind Gibson. JUNIORS KYLE Morrell and Norm Parrish have been the guards for the club and both have improved with each outing. Norm is actually a better forward but does the guard spot well, an excellent outside shooter who can also drive. Kyle is extremely quick and plays well on defense, he too can shoot from outside. Sophomore John White (6 7) could see considerable action before the season is over. John is a great player for a sophomore and some have compared him to Dean Hunger of Davis. JUNIORS WHO could see some action include Jonathan Cox, Rob and David Petersen, Marv Callicotte, Mike Ellis, Guy Zwahlen and Ty Chisym. Viewmont could mold into a very competitive unit, all they need is some playing time IMf-De- e sence of their senior guard Mike Dolder. Mike suffered an arm injury in football and was in a cast for six weeks. Doctors say hes about ready to go which is good news for Viewmont. Mike is the floor general and ball handler, hell also surprise people with his shooting. The only holdover on the varsity club is senior forward Paul Hansen who has been around for three years. At 62 Paul isnt a big forward but he has a knack for scoring well, right now hes the most consistent player on the team. RICH DOWNS (6 3) is a starter at forward and most coaches agree that he is one of the best shooters in the league. Rich has a picture perfect jump shot that is deadly from anywhere inside 20 feet. Senior Brad Gibson is the center on the (6 club and his rebounding is a must for their success. He hit the boards extremely well in 4) .r 1979 Traattent A new clinic for treatment of hands has been established at McKay-De- e Hospital part of the rehabilitation program, Center as which is under the direction of Dr. John M.
