Turner conducting. Family prayer by Jay C. Ben- nett; prelude and postlude BENNETT Mrs. Gladys Norma Ellery Bennett, 74, of 921 West 2700 S., Syracuse, died at her home July 2, 1981. She was born April 18, 1907 in Salt Lake City, the daughter of Charles Claude and Gladys Brind Ellery. She married George Henry Bennett, Jr. Sept. 5, 1928 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. SHE WAS employed for a number of years at J.C. Penney Co. in Ogden and later as librarian at the Syracuse Library Branch. She was reared in Salt Lake City and Ogden and graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City. She had resided in Syracuse for 53 years and was an active member of the Syracuse 3rd Ward. She served in many of the organizations there. She and her husband did ordinance work in the Ogden Temple and they served an LDS mission in Oklahoma in 3. She was a member of the a Club in Syracuse and also a member of the Australian Mission Club, one of the oldest missionary groups that still meets every month. Mrs. Hill died June 26 in the Davis North Medical Center, Layton. THE FAMILY prayer was given by Steven R. Rites Held For Crash Yictim Funeral services were held July I in the Kaysville 16th Ward Chapel for Harold Frank SteaBf who was killed in an airplane crash June 17, 1981 at Spanish Fork, Ut. Bishop Craig Hansen officiated at the service. Overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Felt were her sister and brother-in-laMr. and Mrs. James S. Reece of Pompano, Fla. They were in Utah to visit with relatives in Spring-vill- e and other areas. Dr. and Mrs Stephen Morgan and family of Kaysville, and his mother, Mrs. Ina Morgan of Nephi, traveled to San Francisco, Calif, to visit with Dr. Morgans brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Morgan. Visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sides is Mr. and Mrs. Jack Patton of Freemont, Calif. They were entertained at a patio dinner party Wednesday night. Other guests were Mrs. Sides mother, Mrs. Clyde Warner and friends from Roy. Jim Stenquist, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stenquist, has received his mission call to serve in the Colorado Denver Spanish Speaking Mission. He will enter the MTC on Aug. 15. He is a member of the Kaysville 16th Ward. Dr. and Mrs. Harold Hansen are happy to have their infant son now at home after being confined to the hospital for the past two months for treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Harlen Phillips of Ogden were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stuart. Visiting with her mother, Mrs. Jennie Hollist, is Mr. and Mrs. Vance Pace and children from Lima, Peru. They came to attend the wedding of their daughter, Nanette, who will be married July 17. Their other daughter, Carolee, will remain in Utah to attend BYU this fall, while Mr. and Mrs. Vance will go to the Fuji Islands where he has been transferred for his next assignment. Others from out-of-sta- te arriving to attend the wedding are Mrs. Alice Giauque, Mrs. Dawnell Tingey, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hollist. They will all be the guests of their mother, Mrs. Jennie Hollist, during their stay in Utah. Elder Bart Thompson returned home July 2 from serving his mission in Japan. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thompson and a member of the Kaysville 8th Ward. Mr. and Mrs. Del Wissel of Iowa, Mrs. Colleen Duncan, Salt Lake City, were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Bond. Mr. and Mrs. Don Adams and daughter Lisa and niece Vickie Adams spent a few days vacationing at Hyrum Dam. Mrs. Edith Bass is now at her home after being confined to the hospital the past month for treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Purdy returned from Colorado Springs, Colo, where they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hannon. En route home they traveled to Rapid City, S.D. and visited with his brother Rick Purdy and family. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Patton and son Mike and his fiancee Tracy of Freemont, Calif., visited with her sister, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sides and Mrs. Clyde Warner in Ogden. While in Utah they were guests at a family dinner held at the home of their other sister, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hadden of River-dale. Mr. and Mrs. Sides, Mr. and Mrs. Patton, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hadden and their families, and their mother, Mrs. Clyde Warner, enjoyed a family reunion campout at Lovelock, Nev, last weekend with 80 family members attending. Mr. and Mrs. Lyman Yar-ne-ll of Grand Terrace, Calif, are visiting with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Jensen of Syracuse. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Heath of Kaysville and his brother, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Heath, Bountiful, were guests in Ida. of their nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Heath. Others visiting there were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Heath, Ontario, Oreg. and a niece, Mr. and Mrs. George Leppert, Spokane, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sides entertained their Pinochle Club at their home Saturday evening. Dp. Clyde Marx attended the American Optometrist Association convention held in Las Vegas for eight days. Dr. and Mrs. Steven Allen and family of Ellensburg, Wash, have been visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace F. Allen. They are moving to Denver, Colo, to make their home where Steven and his brother, Rex, are setting up a practice. Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Caldwell and family have moved to Farmington, N.M. where he has accepted a position as petroleum engineer. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gale F. Caldwell. Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Thome were overnight guests in Sugar City, Ida. of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ricks, former missionary companions. They drove on to West Yellowstone where they spent two days at the Ricks summer cabin. Mrs. Belva Muir was among 20 cousins who met at the restaurant in Layton for a dinner party reunion. The reunion consisted of the Lyman O. Porter family. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. William K. Wilson and her sister and family, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Butterfield, was their brother, Mr. and Mrs. Sherrell Stout and family of Granger. They all spent time with Mr. Stouts father, Delbert Stout of Kaysville. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Christensen and family attended the funeral of his brother-in-laEtsil Fisher, held in Farming-to- n last week. Mrs. Kathy Cox and son of Amarillo, Texas is spending ten days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Heath. Dr. and Mrs. Ray Johnson and family of Idaho Falls, Ida. were dinner guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Johnson on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thompson and daughters, Laura and Teri, spent a week vacationing at their summer cabin in Sports Haven near Fairview, Ut. Mrs. LaVerde McAllister of Kanab and Mrs. Charnelle Manson of Price were holiday weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sam McAllister and family. Mr. and Mrs. George Talbot attended the production of Mrs. Rex Brimhall, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Brimhall of Layton; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Dance, Camarillo, Calif.; Mr. and Mrs. Ermin Gold and daughter Connie and three children of Gooding, Ida.; Mr. and Mrs. Ferman Nielson, Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Nielson and children, all of Payson; Mr. and Mrs. Morris Nielson and Phyllis Robertson, Carol and Jim Finch, Gooding, Ida., attended the Ole Nielson family reunion held in Layton June 27. Peter and Vickie Carrier have moved to Kaysville from Bountiful. Mrs. Carrier is the former Vickie Sides. Visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Bond were Mr. and Mrs. Roy W. Welty and children of North Salt Lake, his father Marvin Welty, San Jose, Calif, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Giles and children, Taylorsville, Ut. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Emery and family attended the funeral service of her sister, Mrs. LaRue Hess Jardine on Saturday in Ogden. Mrs. Norma Preece was a luncheon guest in Logan Friday of Mrs. Verna Sparks. She spent time visiting with her Mrs. Laura Cheney, Logan, and with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Keeler, Brigham City. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Stevens and son of Houston, Texas were guests of Dr. and Mrs. Terry J. Preece on Out-of-to- Mr. and Mrs. Keith H. Brimhall, Kaysville, Keith and Carolyn Brimhall and eight children, and Rex and Nyta Brimhall and five children, all of Layton, traveled to Show Low, Ariz. to attend the Noah Walter Brimhall family reunion. Lt. David Stenquist, who has been stationed at Quanico, Va. in the Marine Corps, is at home visiting with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stenquist. He will be reassigned to Camp Pendleton, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Gale F. Caldwell hosted a fireside at their home Saturday evening for 25 guests. Ronald Zollinger presented a slide presentation. Heather Hess, daughter of Jay C. Hess and Marjorie B. Hess, will enter the MTC on July 15 to serve in the Canada Vancouver Mission. HER FAREWELL will be held at 8:30 a.m. on July 12 at the Bountiful 23rd Ward Chapel, 2200 S. 600 E. Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rison of San Bernardino, Calif, were visitors last week of Mr. and Mrs. George Heywood. They are friends of Miss Georgia Heywood who is serving an LDS mission in California. Gary and Ann Bingham and family, who have been living in Florida the past while, have moved back to Kaysville. Scott Parker of Blanding, who attends WSC in Ogden, is making his home with an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Elder Troy D. Cox. son of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd R. Cox of Kaysville, has been called to serve an LDS mission to the England London East Mission. Elder Robert V. Cook has been called to serve in the England Coventry Mission. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard D. Cook, 2029 E. Gentile, Layton. HE WILL speak in the Layton Fifth Ward, comer of Gentile and Oakhills Dr., July 12 at 9 a.m. There will be an open house at his home July 14 from p.m. Roger is a graduate of Layton High School and seminary. He was president of the National Honor Society and HE WILL speak July 12 in the Kaysville Fourth Ward at 10:50 a.m., 875 E. 200 N., Kaysville. Missionaries Elder Troy Howard has returned from the Guatemala Guatemala City Mission. He was called to the El Salvador San Salvador Mission where he served for four months. When the conflict broke out he was transferred to the Guatemala Mission. Elder Thompson To Report Elder Bart Thompson returned home Thursday from serving his mission in the Japan Okyama Mission. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Thompson and a member of the Kaysville Eighth Ward. ELDER THOMPSON will give his mission report July 19 in the Kaysville Eighth Ward at 12:30 p.m. in the Rock Chapel, 25 S. 200 E. np Elder James Kemp Arbuck-lson of Mr. and Mrs. James K. Arbuckle, 1433 East Waterfall Dr., Fruit Heights, has accepted a mission call to serve in the Boliva Mission. He will enter the MTC July 16. His farewell was held June 14 in the Fruit Heights Second Ward. e, Elder L. Arniel Ellis, the son of Elaine Ellis of Layton, and John Ellis of Sand Hollow, Ida., has been called to serve in the Philippine Celu Mission. He will enter the MTC July 16. JAMES IS a graduate of Davis High School where he was a member of the Davis High band and orchestra. He served as studentbody artist and was a member of the Lagoon Show Band. He has completed one year of schooling at BYU. A GRADUATE of Layton High School and the LDS Seminary, Elder Ellis has been attending WSC this past year. Twelve members of the executive board for the North Davis Center DUP Board met at the home of Mrs. Leola for a meeting with Mrs. Roselyn Slade, president, in charge. Heather Talbot and Justin Talbot of Chicago, III. arrived to spend the summer with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Talbot. They are the Prig-mo- re M: t children of Mr. and Mrs. NATHANIEL MARK DUNN Michael Talbot. Aaron M. Roundy has accepted a mission call to the Indianapolis Mission. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Roundy of Kaysville and a member of the Kaysville 16th Ward. He will enter the MTC Aug. 27. Mr. and Mrs. Bible Charles Verse Barnes and Mr. and Mrs. John Barnes of Burley, Ida. spent two days in Kaysville with their mother, Mrs. Helen Barnes. Mr. and Mrs. John Stewart entertained at a patio dinner Sunday evening in honor of their son, Lance, who is home on leave from the Marine Corps.
