Show FEBRUARY 8, 1984 OMTUffR CT' Wednesday Rites ' Mrs. Wesley (Marjorie) Bar- ton, Riverdale; Mrs. Leonard (June) Stephenson, North Ogden; Mrs. John (Carol) Cook Services Graves, Orem; and Mrs. Alan (Mary Ellen) George, West Point; 29 grandchildren and 12 HE AND his wife served an LDS mission to Albuquerque, New Mexico from 1976-7At the time of his death he was a member of the Layton 27th Ward and a High Priest. Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters, Charles A. Beus, Ogden; 7. Elmer J. Beus and Mrs. Claire Cutler, Portland, Ore.; and Mrs. Marie lva Geertsen. Peb-- . ble Beach, Calif. FUNERAL services were held Wednesday at p.m. at the West Point Stake Center with Bishop Carl D. Thurgood officiating. Family prayer was given by SURVIVING are his widow of Layton, two sons, Brian D. Cook, Kaysville; Lynn W. Cook, Fruit Heights; nine grandchildren; his father of 1 Syracuse. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert T. Cook. Also surviving are one brother and three sisters, Verl W. Cook, Logan; Mrs. Betty Edwards, Sunset; Norma Beazer, Salt Lake City and Glenda Bone, Kaysville. HE HAD been employed in management at Hill Force Base, retiring in t cl 976. He was past president of the Hill Field Administrators ; rClub. c- - Since his retirement, he had 7 been employed by the Talley industries of Mesa, Ariz. ri ; C HE WAS a veteran of the 7 U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was an active member of c:the LDS Church. He had been -fAaronic priesthood instructor, c VWMIA superintendent, SuS-- ' nday School superintendent and Gospel Doctrine teacher, and r .He was a Master 7 an Eagle Scout with Three .Palms. Beus Thurgood, 78. 1650 W. 300 N.. West Point, died Sunday, Jan. 29, 1984 in an Ogden nursing home of causes incident to age. SHE WAS born Jan. 11.1906 in Clinton, a daughter of Charles Paul and Laura Sophie Dieu Beus. On Oct. 10. 1929 she married John Arnold Thurgood. in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Thurgood died July 14, 1983. MRS. THURGOOD resided in Clinton and Ogden during her early life and was educated in the schools of Davis Coun- ty. Following her marriage, she resided in West Point. She was an active member of the West Point 2nd Ward and had been active in the Re- lief Society organization, served as stake missionary, a Sunday School teacher and active in genealogy work for a number of years. She was a member of the Daughters of Pioneers. SURVIVING are one son and five daughters, C. Jay Thurgood, Meridian. Ida.: Mrs. Van C. (Shirley) Gailey. : ; died Monday. Jan. 30. .1984 at a local hospital of heart failure. Ogden, ; 72 MRS. NALDER was born Dec. 17. 1918 in Ogden, a daughter of Hacel W. and Catherine G. Kinley Naldcr. r- Norman Voss -- She married j ' March - t 10. 1935 in Nevada. They were divorced. She mar- ried Neil Smith in 1949 in Evanston. W'yo. They were la- ter divorced. She married Ver-nal East in 1956. He died De cember 1980. SHE WAS reared and educated in Layton and graduated from Davis High School. She had been a gourmet chef and had managed several restaurants in this area. - SHE WAS a member of the LDS Church, serving as Primary teacher. Surviving are two sons and one daughter. Bruce Voss. On Sunday the following traveled to West Jordan where they attended the farewell of Elder Robert Scott Simmons, who is departing this week for training prior to leaving for the Cleveland-Ohi- o mission. Mr. and Mrs. Zene W. Bennett, Syracuse; Mr. and Mrs. Lynn B. Niederhauser. and daughter Jill, of Kaysville: Mr. and Mrs. Dean R. Simmons and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Simmons and five children, all of Layton. Elder Simmons is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sim June SHE WAS born April 7. 1916 in Magna, a daughter of Minor W. and Ida Black Alldredge. On Aug. II, 1937 she married Arthur V. Bulkley in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. SHE HAD traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada with her husband who was a building supervisor for the LDS Church. They spent three years in Western Samoa and two years in New Zealand. She was an active member of the Millcreek 1st LDS Ward at the time of her death.
