THE MAYOR noted there should be a lot of opposition from property owners to a gun range Mayor Thurgood said the city is purchasing property nearby so a new city office building can be constructed .sometime in the future A program is available now (hat i: would allow a contractor to come in and build a structure and then lease it to the city for $20,000 a year. THE MAYOR also said he would write a letter to the Davis County Commission, stating the Syracuse city wants to be included m the planning for the West Valley highway and the Layton Emerson1 Emerson Model Canal. In other action, they approved an annexation policy declaration to assure workable boundary lines between the city and its neighbors. Eight annexation policies are part of the declaration. The city now contains about six square miles and would eventually expand to the south and west to include about ,11 square ; miles tpt&ymSft.
