She has been on the training staff at the district and council level. In these she Scouts of America Silver Beaver Award on Jan. 23 at the Lake Bonneville Council Recognition Banquet. She is active in the Cub Scouting program of the Gateway District. The Silver Beaver Award is the highest honor a scouting volunteer can receive. MRS. BENNETTS husband. Marv Bennett, received the Silver Beaver Award in 1978 for his 25 years of active service in scouting. Mr. Bennett has assisted his wile with many Cub Scouting activities. He has served on the staff of three Western Regional Wood Badge courses. For a man and wife to both receive Silver Beaver Awards is a unique distinction. MARILYN BEGAN her scouting career as an assistant den leader in Cub Scouting w hen her oldest son Robert became a Cub Scout. She served several years as a den leader of Pack 158 and 154. seeing that all boys received every rank possible and many arrow points in Cub Scouting. She was den leader coach for several years for Packs 158 and 154 and she made sure the pack received every award possible each year for a period of over six years. . positions, has instructed over 1700 leadin the Lake Bonneville ers Council. In 1974 she attended the training at Philmont Training Center in Cimarron. New Mexico. SHE WAS selected by the National BSA to teach the den leader coach seminar at Philmont in August 1975. Marilyn was the first lady from the Lake Bonneville Council to be selected to this staff. She has worked for the past 13 years in Cub Scouting on many committees, having been on the a Committee for over ten years. She helped on the Soar Project for eight years. Marilyn has been involved in the pow wows. She has been on the staff in various positions over Leader Coach Seminar. MARILYN HAS also been chairman of the council's National Cub Scout Physical Fitness Program for two years. She had put on several courses of train the trainer on the council level. Mrs. Bennett has served on roundtable committees, as stake cub director, roundtable commissioner, zone commissioner. assistant district commissioner and district Cub Scout chairman. She has been the council Cub Scout training WHILE SHE was the Layton LDS Stake cubbing director. Mrs. Bennett had eleven packs under her supervision. Calif. She completed her wood badge ticket and was presented her wood badge beads on Feb. 25. 1978 at the Mountain West Area meeting. She is the first lady scouter in the Lake Bonneville Council and along the Wasatch Front to receive the Wood Badge Beads and this honor Marilyn is a three-bead- the course as a den counselor at Portland. Ore. She served at Camp Pupukea. Hawaii at the regional course there in 1979. PRIOR TO receiving the Silver Beaver Award. Marilyn had received her Den Leader Training Award. Den Leader Coach Training Award. Scou-ter- s Key in Cub Scouting. Scouters Key as a commissioner and Commissioner's Arrow and District Award of Merit. The Bennett's are the parents of two children, both boys. Their sons Robert and Hal J. are both Eagle Scouts. Both boys have been active in the Order of the Arrow, serving in various positions with the Order of the Arrow. They have both received their Duty To God Awards. They have been active working on the ceremonies section at the pow wow for several years and working with the Webelos.
