SEVERAL SUNSET Jr. High students were among the top winners at the 01 (beginning) level. From among the 202 participants at this level, Maren Jill Watts was awarded first place. Third, fourth, fifth and seventh places were also won by Sunset Jr. students. Linda Stevens won third, Denise Evans and Charlotte Parson tied for fourth, Wendy Thompson won fifth and Norman Taylor placed seventh. All six students scored well above the national average and their papers will be considered for the national competition. Kaysviile News Mr. and Mrs. Eugene were guests at dinner in Salt Lake City Monday evening at the home of their daugh- ter Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kingsley and family. The dinner was in Prig-mo- re honor of Mrs. Prigmores birthday. John Reed is now at home convalescing after being con- fined to the Davis North Medical Center undergoing treatment. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gibby of Los Angeles, Calif, visited a few days with his sister and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Halhday. On Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Gibby of Salt Lake City were also visitors. Mrs. Janie Heaps hosted a bridal shower at her home Wednesday evening in honor of Miss Lori Stevens. Twenty guests attended. Elder Steve Alder, son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Alder of 216 East 1050 North, Kaysviile has received a mission call to brother-in-la- serve in the Sweden-Stockhol- m Mission. He is a member 6f the Kaysviile 20th Ward. Elder Alder will enter the Mission Training Center on June 26. His mission farewell will be held on June 15. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Miera accompanied their daughter Lee and Virgand inia Mackey to Toas, New Mex., where they attended the funeral service of Mr. Mieras brother. Lino Miera. The Kaysviile Art Club held their closing social and luncheon on Monday. They met at Braden's Cove Restaurant in Bountiful for lunch and after took a tour of the Bountiful Art Center. The Athena Gub closing social will be held on Saturday, May 3 with a spring luncheon at the Valley View Restaurant in Layton. Members and their guests are invited to attend.
