Show FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY NOTES I 1 the board 0 of f the free public library met sa saturday tu aday evening july 12 at the tha library several items of business were transacted thase Those of the board who were present were president 1 I 0 brown clara M shields john ti M burgoyne merrill and the librarian rose H hamblen although the library fund this year Is very limited a fine lot of 0 books ot of the latest fiction has been ordered with which to replenish the rental shelf and books tor for children have hava also been sent tor for the childrens books selected elected have been mainly taken from the supplementary reading course coarse which la Is put out each year by the s tate state board of 0 education the tha library had a total circulation of books and magazines for a eom of less than 1200 people however a large per cent ot at the books roost most in demand have worn completely out and unless they can be purchased pur again and placed inthe library the circulation will decrease this year there aro are a number of books out which are overdue will you kindly look through your libraries and see it you have any books there belonging to the library which are overdue it so please return them at once to the library many times some person borrows a book and keeps it two tire or three months after they are through with it thereby depriving oner ober people who are anxious to read it of the privilege books should be returned promptly after reading and if 1 a fin alno I 1 for overdue has to be chstr charged ed th the e mies fines imposed should be paid promptly t there are people in kanab who owe tines fines tor for years and never make any effort to pay them yet expect all the privileges the public library affords they are usually the patrons who expect special privileges and complain because we better library facilities no person in the community adult or child has a right to deface tear or damage or otherwise a library book it a book is damaged by a borrower he should expect to pay for or it in full the books in the library belong to the public to use but tho the greatest care possible should be taken of the at all times librarian arlan |
