Show A resolution proposing an amendment to Section 2 of Article X of the Constitution of the State of Utah, as amended January 1, 1907, relating to the Public School System, and Section 3 of Article X of the Constitution of the State of Utah, relating to the State School Fund. Be it resolved and enacted by the Legislature of the State of Utah, of all the members elected to each of the two houses concurring herein: Section 1. That it is proposed tc' amend Section 2 of Article X of the Constitution of the State of Utah, at amended January 1st, 1907, and Sec tlon 3 of Article X of the Constitution of the State of Utah, so the same wili read as follows: Section 2. The public school system shull Include kindergarten schools, common schools, consisting of prliuar, and grammar grades., high schools, an agricultural college, a university, and such other schools as the Legtsla ture may establish. The common schools shall be free. The other de partnients of the system shall be sup ported as provided by law. Section 3. The proceeds of all land that have been or may be granted b the United States of this State, foi the support o( the common schools; the proceeds of all property that mu accrue to the State by oscheut or for feiture; all unclaimed shares and divi (lends of any corporation incorporates under the laws of this State; the pro ceeds.of the sale of timber, mineral oi other property Irom school and Statt Jands, other than those granted foi specific purposes; and five per centum of the net proceeds of the sale of pub He lands lying within the State, wutel. shall be sold by the United States, subsequent to thu admission of th ft Slau Into the Union, shall be and remain u perpetual fund, to be called the St at School Fund, the Interest of which only, together with such other uieam as the Legislature may provide, shal be distr.buted among the severa school districts according to the schoo population residing theerln.
