The annual meeting of the Commercial Club was held last Monday evening; the reports of the various committees were read, and the election of officers was proceeded with. W. C. Andrews was the unanimous choice of the Club for president. Mr. Grover, the re tiring president, in a very appropriate speech, turned over the chair to Mr. Andrews, who, though very much taken by surprise, told the members of his appreciation of the honor con ferred upon him, and his great desire to serve the Club as presi dent to the full measure of his ability. The new president of the Club is well liked by all of the members. On the various com mittees on which he has served, he has done his work exception ally well. As a school teacher, county clerk, captain of the national guard, he was very popular, and his friends believe he will make as great a success as presi ' dent of the Club. Wm.
