The teachers are making a special effort to raise the percentage of attendance and punctuality and so far the result are incouraging. A checking is made each day and the standing of each school is known. At present the grade., are competing for the large America flag, the grade having the best record receives the flag for one week. The first week ihe flag went to Miss Harris who hts one of the sections in beginners grade. The next week Miss Latimer's school was victorious. This week the flag went to the north school to Miss Finch'stroom. The plan being followed by the teachers is to create a sentiment against coming to school late and being absent when not necessary. In this move for improvement the teachers ask tor the cooper ation of the parents. The lesson of punctuality is far more important than learning the minipul-atio- n of numbers on the learning of historical facts. In the future some records will be published showing the condition of our schools in this respect. Beginning on Dec. 19th there will be one change in the public school faculty. Miss Fehren who has ons of our been kamp most deligent teachers will leave fp r her home in the East. While here she has made many fnend whoregret her leaving. Probably no musical comedy company of recent years has met with such universal success a m o n fc the theatre-goin- g public of the eastern cities. It is one of these hodge podge affairs constructed of good clean comedy: bright and up to the minute. The music is under the able direction of Herr Georgian Ludwig Frantz, and is the catchy swiming sort that you find yourself whistling and humming. This company carries scenery equip ment and has a Beauty Chorus of well trained, cultivated and re fined young ladies of the stage, and our local manager has been very fortunate in securing this attraction; he being only able to do so on account of the company being desirous of breaking the tang monotonus ride between the Atlantic and Pacific coast, where they are en route to play in the largest and best theatre for the coming two years. Negotiations .ire now in progress for the erec lion of u special theatre conces sion in the great Panama Pacific exposition to be held in San Francisco in 1915.
