Very impressive funeral services for Mrs. Alzada Golden, wife of George Golden, were hell in the tabernacle Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. Bishop A. II. Be His ton presided. The first speaker was Dr. T. who referred to the faith the deceased had manifested in her long suffering. Plainly outlined the work of the human race here on earth, gave some very striking illustrations to make his points clear. That we had the power and desir to w o r s h i p showed there was something to worship. Pictured plainly there was a greater thing to live for than earthly possessions. Bishops W. II. Pettegrew, T. H. G. Parkes and A. II. Beltis-to- n each and all bore a strong testimony to what had been said. Referred to the life and good works of Mrs. Golden. The deceased was the daughter of Iaac and Francis M o r I y . She was born at Moroni Sanpete county in 1370, was married t Geo. Golden Jan. 13. 1887. Since this union eleven children have been born, ten together with her husband survive her. Since Mrs. Golden moved to Nephi she has been an active worker in the church, she was a noble wife, mother and neighbor. Music was furnished by a male quartette and the first ward choir. Interment took place at the city cemetery. The out of town visitors at the funeral were: Mrs. J. W. Chris tensen. Mr. and Mrs. Amass Morley, Mrs. Abner Anderson, John Morley, Mrs. Sorenson, and Mrs. Draper of Moroni. Mrs. A 0. Shoemaker, and her mother Mrs. Francis Morley of Manti. In compliance with a request made by the Department of In- iustrial education of the Slate University; the boys of the grammer grades are organizing "Civic" Improvement Club", which has lor its object the improvements of streets or any other improvment of a p'ublic nature that they may consider as being wholesome. A committee of three has been ap- pointed to draft a constitution has been adopted there will no doubt be a special election of the officers. It ia intended that there shall at least be two can. diatcs for each office, and the voting shall be done by secret ballot. It is to be hoped that every citizen of our town will give the boys support and encouragement n this laudible cause. Monday March 17th the Relief Society had a very unique little celebration, consisting of songs. recitations, speeches, dancing and some delicious refreshments. Easter is significant because it commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The resurrec-ti"- n of Jesus is a historic fact. It is proven as any other historic fact is established. First it is established by the testimony of competent witnesses. Between his resurrection and his ascen sion Jesus was seen by his friends many times.
