Bumpus Tuesday. ft Miss Pearl Norvald of Salt Lnke Tity, Utah, sang a choice selection at the Ford Union Sunday School, Sunday, Sun-day, June 3rd. Miss Pearl Norwald of Salt Lake City, Utah, has been visiting at the home of Mrs. Charles Jobert for the past week. She reports that she is having a very enjoyable visit. ft " Meeting of Ford Progressive Club. The Ford Progressive Club held its regular meeting which was largely attended at-tended as usual, at the Kendall Club House. Mrs. Charles Jobert entertained , Mrs. W. G. Bumpus and daughter,! Miss Agnes, at 4 o'clock dinner Sat-1 urday evening in honor of her guest, Miss Pearl Norvald of Salt Lake City. I Mr. Charles Jobert came home from St. George Thursday, June 7th. He brought with him a lovely bouquet of roses and honeysuckle, which he divided di-vided with his friends and neighbors. We were very glad he arrived in time for the club meeting and we appreci-! ate his work and advice, and hope he will be here to attend our next meeting. meet-ing. We are very sorry to state the facts about Mr. H. E. Rimmel's accident,! who was struck with lightning in the severe electric storm the other day. It burned his foot very severely. Mr. Victor Carlson took him to the Mil-ford Mil-ford hospital. Mrs. Atkins of the Mil- ford Hotel presented Mr. Rimmel with a beautiful Bible. Mr. Rimmel has returned home and was able to attend Sunday School last Sunday, but we are very sorry to see him walking with crutches. A very interesting business session' and the election of officers, the same being Mr. Fred Waldschmidt. president, presi-dent, Mr. O. M. Fee vice-president Mrs. Charles Jobert financial secretary, secre-tary, Miss Agnes M. Bumpus, corresponding corres-ponding secretary, Mr. Walter C. I Bentley, treasurer. The community desired to have the name of the club changed to "Ford Progressive Club." This was done. After the business meeting, a very enjoyable time was had playing games and dancing. Delightful refreshments refresh-ments were served. Regular meeting every Saturday evening. Everybody invited. Mr. and Mrs. Sweeny and children of Btryl were callers here one day last W( ek. Mr. Kail IV Ca-saciy WU not as well as usual last Saturday and was unable un-able to attend the club meeting. Mr. E. Dastalerk and several others returned from their work to register J.June 6th. ; Sunday School as usual every Sunday Sun-day at the Ford Union Sundav School at 2:30 p. m. Mr. J. . Johnston, superintendent. sup-erintendent. All welcome. t Mrs. Freeman's mother, Mrs Keith, has returned to her home in Pes Moines, Iowa, taking her daughter, Mrs. E. E. Freeman with her. Mr. Freeman has gone to Salt Lake City to accept employment as a carpenter. '"' Mr. Oscar Berec had the misfortune to get thrown off a horse, breaking one of his limbs. He was taken to the Southern Utah Hospital at Cedar City, where Dr. Leonard will fix him up as good as new. Mrs. W. W. Fee has recovered from a severe attack of la grippe and was able to attend our club meeting. We were very glad to have him there, as he is one of our very active members. A lovely bouquet of flowers was sent to Mr. Fee from St. George, which he appreciated very much. We have a letter of recent date from Mr. A. H. Kendall of Pasadena, California, stating that he has purchased pur-chased a tractor and fencing preparatory prepara-tory to returning to his Broad View ranch, Ford, Utah. We expect to sec Broad View ranch blossom into a beautiful beau-tiful field of sweet clover. If it grows like the sample he has it cannot be beaten. |
